Adrianna scrunches up her nose. “Isn’t it weird calling them by their first names?”
Eva shakes her head. “Not really, since Oak talks about them so often. It’s kind of weird calling them Professor Nitkin or Coach Daniels now.”
“Fair enough,” I say, linking arms with Eva and the Adrianna. “Let’s get this show on the road.”
I try to seem as cool as I can, acting like myself, but deep down I’m a mess of nerves. Tonight, I’m going to see Gavril Nitkin outside of the academy after he climaxed over my face hours before. The timings couldn’t have been worse and I just hope we’re there before him so I can get a few drinks in me to take the edge off of facing him.

GAVRIL
“We’re going out,” Archer says.
I shake my head. “No thanks. The last time you roped me into going out, we ended up stuck with a load of students.”
“It’s non-negotiable. I even got Oak to agree.”
I arch a brow. “Now, that, I’m not sure I believe.”
“Well, believe it.” He gives me a stern look. “There’s no way you’re weaseling your way out if Oak has agreed.”
I sigh heavily. “And we can guarantee no students will bother us?”
“Not exactly.”
My brow furrows. “What do you mean, not exactly?”
“Well, one requirement of Oak coming is that Eva and her friends come too.”
I sigh heavily and pinch the bridge of my nose. “And let me guess, that includes Adrianna Vasquez?”
His dark eyes flash with a mix of anger and desire. “Yes.”
“Forget it. I’m not going.” There’s no way I can trust myself to sit in a bar with Camilla Morrone for the night and not take things too fucking far.
“Are you going to make me and Oak drag you with us?”
I clench my jaw, glaring at Archer. “You can be a real asshole. Did you know that?”
“Yeah,” he says, shrugging. “But I’m a loveable asshole.”
Oak walks into the staff room. “What are you two jabbering about? I can hear you in the corridor.”
“I’m telling this asshole that I don’t want to go out tonight.”
Oak’s jaw clenches. “Good luck. The guy is a fucking menace. He won’t give up until you are on your knees.”
My eyes narrow. “I’d like to see him try.”
Archer laughs. “Just make it easy on all of us and stop being a killjoy.”
“We’re not going to that seedy bar again, are we?” As the place was fucking terrible.
“No,” Oak says, running a hand through his hair. “I’ve picked a nicer place. It won’t be packed full of students.” His jaw clenches. “Except the three we’re letting come with us.”
“Three?” I ask, wondering why it’s not four. Eva hangs out with Camilla, Adrianna and Natalya.
“Yeah, Natalya Gurin is still back in Boston for her brother’s wedding.”
