“Cause a rift in an already precarious relationship,” she says.

“Smart.” I tap my fingers in a steady rhythm on the table. “And how do you propose we settle our differences?”

Rourke clears his throat. “Mia isn’t in charge of that. We need to settle them ourselves. It would help if you destroyed those fucking missiles for a start.”

“Missiles?” I chuckle, even though I knew they believed it. “Such fools.”

“What the fuck are you chuckling about?” Massimo asks.

“Hernandez believed that shit, but I didn’t really think you would all be swayed so easily. It was my ploy to secure my position in the Estrada Cartel. There are no missiles.”

Rourke shakes his head. “We’ve seen the photos.”

I laugh. “You mean the photos of the empty shells I tricked that idiot Hernandez with? So gullible, all of you.” I run a hand through my hair. “Maybe I should have sourced missiles and blown you all away. The lot of you are fucking idiots and this city would thrive under me.”

Uncle stands. “You traitorous little—”

“Save it, uncle.” I push up to my feet. “The family deserved no allegiance from me. After all, I’ve only ever been the black sheep of the family.” I bare my teeth at him, feeling the rage bubbling beneath the surface like lava getting ready to erupt from a volcano. “You and my father brought this on yourselves.”

“So, what is it you want?” Maxim asks.

“I want recognition in this city, but I also want the same deal you agreed with my predecessor.”

Rourke shakes his head. “You want us to buy our product from you?”

He shrugs. “It was a deal you agreed on.”

“Yes, when we believed there were missiles that could destroy us,” Rourke says.

I chuckle and glance at Mia. “What do you think, Mia?”

“About what?” she asks.

“Do you think they should honor the agreement made with my predecessor?”

She makes a small nod of her head. “I think they should if you can prove that there are no missiles.”

“You are very smart, aren’t you?” I ask.

Which entices an animal like growl from her fiance, who reaches for his gun.

“And your fiancé needs to be kept on a tighter leash,” I say, glaring at Killian.

Mia tries to calm him with a hand on her arm, eyes still fixed on me. “So, will you prove it?”

I tap my chin, knowing that if I just bow to their commands that easily, they’ll take me for a fool. The idea of making these fools sweat a little longer is more enticing and it will up the stakes. “I’m not sure there’d be much fun in that. I’d rather let the bunch of you sweat longer. Make you pay for your inadequacies.” I pull out my gun and aim it at Mia. “No hard feelings, princess.”

Killian jumps into her path and the bullet rips through the edge of his arm.Disappointing.It won’t do much damage. Gun shots break out as I duck and dive, dodging the bullets and moving backward toward the door.

Once I’m at the door, I tear it open and my two men disappear out of it. “See you later, fuckers,” I shout, letting off my gun for cover as I rush for the exit of The Shamrock.

The commotion confuses all the men in the pub as we dodge and dart around them, rushing for the exit. Adrenaline pulses through my veins as I move out of the way of one of the Irish who tries to stop me. The car’s engine is still running as I slide into the back of it next to Eliza.

Rubén takes the driver’s seat and puts his foot down, racing away from the chaos.

When I glance at Eliza, she’s looking at me with her brow furrowed.

“What is it?” I ask.
