“You’re not scared of flying, are you?” His breath tickled her ear.

“No. Why?”

“You’re quiet.”

“It’s too loud to talk.”

He smiled and moved his face back to her ear. “Is there anything you want to do in London?”

“I haven’t really thought about it. I imagined we’d just see what Trystan felt like doing.”

“I thought you’d be desperate to go to the Warner Brothers Studios …”

She pulled back, scanning his features. His blue eyes sparkled and his smile was eager. To be fair, anyone who knew her well knew of her obsession with Harry Potter, so she shouldn’t read too much into the fact that Kit remembered.

“I booked tickets for tomorrow,” he told her. “We’ll be able to walk along Diagon Alley, and I can take your photo on Platform Nine and Three Quarters.”

A lump formed in her throat and she swallowed hard. “Is Trystan okay with that?”

“Of course.” The light went out of his eyes. “I thought you’d be excited.”

“I am.” She curled her lips to a smile. “It’ll be fun.”

“Do you remember lending me the books?” he asked in her ear, the scent of him invading her senses once again.

“What?” she asked vaguely.

“You lent me all the Harry Potter books.”

She nodded. “It rings a bell.”

“You got annoyed with me and took them all back before I’d finished them.”

She trawled her memories until it came back to her. “Because you dog-eared the pages!”

“I hadn’t read the last three books when you demanded them back. I was so annoyed.”

“It was a fitting punishment for your crime. Did you just watch the films in the end?”

“Yes. I didn’t have much choice. I asked Mum to get me the books for Christmas, but I guess she forgot.”

“So you’ve never read the last three books?”

He shook his head sadly. “Do you feel bad?”

“A little bit,” she admitted.

“Can you lend them to me when we get home?”

“Depends.” She raised an eyebrow. “How do you feel about bookmarks these days?”

“I still think you overreacted,” he said, chuckling. “What’s the big deal about turning down the corners of books?”

“That’s something you’ll have to figure out before you borrow any of my books again.”

“I could probably find a bookmark if it’d make you happy.”

The warmth of his arm pressing against hers seeped through her clothes to make her skin tingle. Her sudden desire to kiss the dimple in his cheek made her head spin. It wasn’t just the physical attraction that worried her, though. The fact that he was so easy to be around complicated things even more. If it was just a physical thing, it would be much easier to ignore. Giving herself a quick mental shake, she told herself she was being ridiculous. They were having a conversation about Harry Potter for goodness’ sake.
