“Awesome, the more time I have, the bigger the extravagance I can accomplish,” she exclaims.

My eyes roll so far back in my head, but I control myself.

Sarah gets so over-the-top excited, but that’s what I love about her.

“We’ll have to meet up so we can organize things,” Callie queries.

Sarah nods her head emphatically like they can actually see her. “Sure, how’s tomorrow?”

“Tomorrow is fine, honey,” Callie replies.

“Come over for dinner, and we can all talk about it,” Jeni advises.

“Okay, see you then. Congrats again, guys,” Sarah chimes, and then smiles at me.

“Yeah, congrats. We’ll see you tomorrow. Have a good night… all of you,” I offer, and end the call.

“Oh my God, Chris… my first real client. And it’s Callie. She loves me. So I know I can do anything I want, and she’ll let me. I’m so excited,” she states, then starts to run off.

“Babe, remember, it’s not our wedding, it’s Mike and Callie’s. So you have to pick things they want, not what you want,” I call out to her.

“Dah!” she replies, and I shake my head.

This is going to be out of control!

/> I continue on with making dinner while Sarah’s off doing something, of which I have no idea. When dinner’s ready, I call her to the table, and she sits with a notebook and a pen and begins scribbling in it madly while I bring over our plates. “What’s that about?” I ask.

Damn! I shouldn’t have asked.

That smile means only one thing.

She’s scheming.

“Well, I thought of some ideas for the wedding while I was cleaning up. And seeing as how they’re rich and can have just about anything, I’m thinking we go all out.”

I don’t like that look in her eye.

It means shit’s about to get crazy.

Pulling out the chair, I sit next to her and start eating.

There’s no point in responding because she won’t stop talking to let me get a word in anyway, so I keep quiet and listen.

“Okay, so I was thinking…” Her eyes light up. “You ready for this?” There’s a very long pause as if to give it some sort of emphasis, and then she states, “Theme wedding.” Looking all excited and gesturing like it’s the best idea she’s ever had, I smile and nod. “So, this is my reasoning… Callie once told me she is obsessed with baby chickens, so we could totally do a farm animal theme.” I laugh a little, I simply can’t help it, due to what I think is the sheer stupidity of the statement. Sarah looks at me sternly, so I take another mouthful and shut the hell up. I know when to be quiet and when to talk, and now’s not the time to speak. Not while she’s in full crazy mode. “So, we could have like a petting zoo with pens of all kinds of animals… baby chickens, of course, and sheep, ducks, baby goats. I mean, who doesn’t love baby goats?”

I don’t answer. Instead, I smirk at her ridiculousness.

I’m pretty sure animals and white clothing should never be mixed. I can just imagine the baby goats getting out and running down the aisle chewing on all the flowers.

It’s a terrible fucking idea!

“Okay, so now onto the cake. I’m thinking eight tiers. Why eight, you ask? Well, one for each member of the family. You know, like one for Callie, one for Mike, one for Aiden, Jeni, Brielle, Logan, Killian, and Daniel.”

I smile and nod like that’s a good idea. I guess it’s not one of her craziest—perhaps it could actually work.

“But wait… on the bottom tier, picture four figurine horses hanging from it and on the said horses are figurines of the couples. Mike and Callie, Aiden and Jeni and so forth, then the whole bottom tier spins like a carousel. And boom,” her hand jolts out like an explosion. “You’re amazed, right?”

I honestly can’t help it as I laugh out loud. “Umm… babe, I think maybe—”
