Aiden smirks as we step out the door. Or should I say, I hobble to the car. I need to get my muscles working—might need to enroll in a gym if Aiden keeps this up.

“Hi, Mike,” we both say in unison.

“Are you all right, Miss Taylor? What have you done to yourself?” Mike asks as Aiden discretely chuckles.

“Pretty sure I’ve pulled a muscle,” I attempt to cover up the truth.

“Oh, that’s no good. Hope it gets better soon.” Mike opens the back door.

I glare at Aiden while Mike walks around and hops into the car.

“Aiden stop laughing. You’re giving us away…” I can’t fight the smile that forms on my lips as I berate him. “Mike probably knows now what we were up to. My damn groin and legs are killing me because of our continuous session last night,” I tell him sternly, but I can’t stop my smile as well.

Aiden glances at me with a smirk, then he looks directly at Mike in the front seat and raises an eyebrow.

I wave it off. “Oh, it’s fine. Mike has his AirPods in.”

Aiden chuckles again, smiling so freaking wide like he’s in on some joke.

“No AirPods today, Miss Taylor,” Mike announces from the front seat.

My body freezes. I grimace. My face falls in total embarrassment, but somehow my eyes stay wide even though I know I am about to burst out laughing.

Oh my God!

“Why didn’t you say something?” I whisper to Aiden quietly.

“You spoke so quickly I couldn’t stop you,” he replies with a chuckle.

Yeah, yeah, buddy, I can tell you’re finding this amusing.

“It’s not funny.” I turn away from him and fold my arms, trying to hide my smile. But I’m still undeniably embarrassed.

“It’s a little bit funny.”

“You’re digging a hole, Mr. O’Connell,” Mike’s voice floats back from the front of the car.

“Yes, you are,” I reply, not looking in his direction.

“Come here.” Aiden pulls me toward him. “I’m sorry.” He looks truly proud of himself. His eyes are shining brightly, and he’s giving me a slightly cocky smirk.

Damn him! I can’t help but fall for that grin which is currently plastered all over his face. Aiden leans in kissing my forehead. I sigh, unfold my arms, snuggle into him, and he knows all is forgiven.

Not long later, we are both walking into the office.

Brielle’s at her desk. “Hey, guys,” she chimes.

“Hi, sis.” Aiden kisses me chastely, then walks away to his office.

“Bree, how are you today?” I ask.

She shrugs. “Meh, just another day...”

“Couldn’t agree more.”

We both laugh. I turn on my computer and start my day by typing up a report that’s marked ‘Urgent’ which needs to be signed by Niall. Once it’s finished, I walk to his office and knock on the door.

“Enter,” he groans loudly.
