“I don’t know about that,” Drew said awkwardly, never entirely sure how to take a compliment, “but it’s yours to do whatever you want with.”

“I plan to.” Maisie touched her tongue to her lower lip, and Drew trembled. “If I didn’t know you were a rancher, I would’ve guessed fitness instructor.”

Maisie was back on her feet, and Drew hunched slightly to meet her eyes. “Not sure many could keep up with me.”

“I’m game to try,” Maisie said, rising to the hint of challenge in Drew’s tone, as Drew had hoped she would.

Maisie gave Drew a shove, landing softly on the couch. Drew let out a squeal as she hit the cold leather with nothing to protect her but a highly inadequate pair of underwear. Maisie giggled, but then again, she was still wearing her jeans. It was an oversight that would soon be corrected.

“That’s a little chilly.” Drew hopped up and retrieved several soft blankets from a nearby chest, laying them out on the floor atop the bearskin rug. “Better.”

Drew lowered herself to the floor positioning herself between Maisie’s legs. She undid the button of Maisie’s jeans, unzipping them lazily, as she drank in every contour and shadow of Maisie’s face. Slowly, she eased the jeans off, leaving Maisie clothed in only a wisp of black lace underwear. Had the woman dressed for the occasion, Drew wondered, or was this her everyday attire? That was knowledge she hoped to gain over the days to come.

Drew held out her arms to Maisie, inviting her onto the blankets. She’d pictured a slow seduction, but instead, Maisie lunged toward her, toppling them both to the floor. Before Drew could recover, Maisie was above her, straddling her waist to keep her down.

“That’s cheating!” Drew exclaimed.

“What makes you think you make the rules?” Maisie came closer, pressing her stomach and chest against Drew while she braced herself with one hand beside Drew’s head. She used the other hand to trace the outline of Drew’s face, like she was memorizing every curve with her fingertips. She lowered her head and whispered, “Right now I’m in charge, cowgirl.”

Drew surrendered instantly to her fate, closing her eyes and allowing Maisie complete control. Whatever the woman wanted to do, Drew was willing putty in her hands.

Lifting herself away, Maisie began with Drew’s legs, starting at her toes. Her mouth explored its way upward, inching higher, until she was within striking distance of Drew’s throbbing center. But much to her dismay, Maisie skipped to the other thigh, bypassing the target as she worked her way back down. Drew awaited in excruciating delight, her hips moving with need, but also not wanting this torture to end. She could do this for a lifetime.

Good thing we’re married.

That thought penetrating her walls should have scared her half to death, but it only fanned her desire even more, pushing her past the point of no return.

“Come up here. Please,” Drew added, remembering who was calling the shots.

Maisie obliged, allowing the full weight of her body to rest on Drew’s, every inch of them melding together into a single whole.

When they kissed, it wasn’t forceful as it had been before but languid, lingering. Gradually, Maisie’s hip pressed into Drew, parting her legs, the two of them working in sync, urgency returning to their movements.

“I need you.” Drew closed her eyes, spreading her legs wider, giving herself completely.

Maisie placed a soft kiss on Drew’s lips before heading back down.

She stopped at a nipple, plying it this way and that, Drew’s wetness growing exponentially.

Maisie worked her way downward and downward. Each lick and nip lighting Drew up from the inside out, every nerve ending tingling with ecstasy.

When Maisie’s tongue landed against her clit, Drew almost shot straight up to the ceiling. Digging her head in, she wrapped her fingers into the quilt behind her head, to keep herself right where she wanted to be.

The first finger entered softly, even as Maisie’s tongue continued its work.

The second finger filled her, stretching her gently as it slipped inside.

Drew groaned.

Maisie pushed in deeper, Drew’s muscles clenched around the fingers, wanting to keep them exactly like that for all of eternity, balancing right along the edge of complete oblivion.

It seemed the cruelty of life that this moment couldn’t last. Drew wanted to harness this feeling. Hold it close. But already she could feel herself going further, sliding beyond the brink.

Her breath hitched, and her back arched in expectation of what was about to happen. It hit her like a rolling sensation, like riding a wave. Not quite at the crest, but it was only a matter of time. A tear streaked down her cheek.

Don’t stop. Please, never stop. Never go. Never leave.

Try as she might, Drew couldn’t get the words out. Maybe she didn’t need to. At just the right moment, Maisie reached up with her free hand, threading her fingers through Drew’s, holding on tight like an unspoken pledge.
