He looks over, thanks the nurse, then joins us. We all follow the nurse, even though I want to sprint. Once we’re finally shown to Sophie’s room, we see her laying there, watching the end of the room with anxious eyes.

Roman pets her damp hair back. He whispers to her in Italian as I walk over to her other side. I take her hand and she meets my eyes with a tired smile. “Two big babies.”

“You did so well.” I kiss her forehead.

She hums. “You haven’t even seen them.”

“You are right here in one beautiful piece. That’s good enough for me.” I squeeze her hand.

Roman chuckles. “I think she deafened a nurse.”

“How’s your hand?” Nick asks Roman.

“I’m perfectly fine.” He can’t keep the smile off his face. “Bambina, you are a miracle.”

She tries to sit up and I nearly push her back down when she gasps and stops. “I want my babies.”

“They’re almost ready Mrs. Agosti.” A nurse says.

I can’t even care that Roman got to replace her last name. She’s here, tired, but alive. Her dark hair is a mess on the pillow and she looks so much smaller than I expected her to right now. I look at her delicate fingers in my hand and sigh.

“You are beautiful,” I tell her. “Flawless.”

“You are ridiculous.” She gives me a big smile all the same.

Sophie doesn’t relax until both babies are in her arms. Both of them have some black hair on their heads and they’re all chubby and squirmy. Sophie manages to keep both in her arms, which is impressive as can be.

“They’re perfect, Bambina.” Roman tears up and wipes at his eyes. “Both of them.”

“They still need names.” The nurse reminds us.

“What do we think?” Sophie asks, her eyes staying on the two bundles in her arms. “A boy name and a girl name.”

Roman cups one of the baby’s heads in his big hand. I swallow. “I don’t know which one is which.”

“They’re identical.” Sophie purrs. But she nods to the one Roman is touching. “That’s our little boy. The other is our sweet little girl.”

“So precious,” Nick murmurs.

“So chubby.” Holden chuckles. “Jeeze, Soph, how did you ...”

“Names,” She reminds us.

“We have sweet Link and beautiful Cora at home. They’ll want to know their siblings’ names.” She insists.

“I like the name Aria.” Roman whispers, smiling at our little girl. “Like a song.”

“Aria.,” Sophie hums. “It’s beautiful.”

“Aria Isabella,” I suggest.

Sophie beams at me. “I love it almost as much as I love her.”

“I always liked the name, Sebastian.” Nick gently touches Sophie’s shoulder. “What do you think?”

Roman nods. “It’s a good strong name.”

“I can already see it on the back of a soccer jersey.” Holden chuckles. “Sebastian what?”
