After climbing onto the back of his bike, she wrapped her arms around his waist and pressed her nose against his neck. “I’m ready.”

“Hold on tight.” It was going to be hard for him to focus on anything but her.

He reeved the engine, and she closed her eyes as they pulled away from the curb. If she expected him to go fast and hard, she was going to be disappointed. He went slowly.

She burst out laughing as it took them so long to get to his clubhouse. “What are you doing?”

“You’re not wearing a helmet. Not going to risk you, babe.”

“You’re full of surprises, aren’t you?”

They arrived at his clubhouse and found a parking space. Luna climbed off, and she gave a surprised chuckle.

“I don’t know if I’m ever going to get used to that.” She rubbed her thighs.

He pulled her in close. “Your place will always be on the back of my bike.” He kissed her lips and heard the chaos coming from the clubhouse and the backyard.

A couple of the guys and women were hanging at the front, but he knew the real action would be around the back.

Luna took a deep breath.

“You have a right to be here. Remember that. You’re mine.”

“Yeah, I know, I think.”

He kissed her cheek. “I won’t leave your side.” He placed his hand on her hip, and they walked around to the back of the clubhouse.

He nodded and greeted a couple of the guys who were working on their bikes. None of them got up to say hello, and he took Luna around the back where he saw his dad and Pike at the barbeque pits.

They were serious when it came to grilling, even though Holly was there, telling them both what to do.

“Wow,” Luna said.

A large table with a fancy cloth was laid out with so many different dishes. He saw Mary taking pictures as she moved around the table.

No one was going to be allowed to eat until they had thousands of images of the same shot.

He’d been through all of this before, and often, the guys got a little pissed off in waiting for their food.

“Matthew, my man, it is about time you turned up,” Kid said, shaking his hand.

“Good to see you. Been busy with shit. I want you to officially meet my girl, Luna. Luna, this is Kid. He is another prospect hoping to make it.”

“Hoping to. Dude, I am going to get my shot. Trojans are for life, and I’m all for it. Can’t wait to be a brother.” Kid shook Luna’s hand. “Do I know you?”

“I, er, I don’t know,” Luna said. “I work at the diner, I don’t know if that is where you’ve seen me.”

“Probably. Guy’s got to eat.”

Matthew looked past Kid to see Eliza and Brass. “Catch up with you later,” Matthew said. He wanted Luna to meet Eliza

“Whoa, are you okay?” Luna asked.

“Yeah, there is just someone I want you to meet.”

“Matthew,” Brass said.

“Hey, Brass, er, how are the kids?”
