She’d be even wetter if I hurt her. Punished her. Took her past her limits.

Yes.

Fuck my plans for staying still and being gentle. I use one hand to bring her down closer, harder, and fuck her. A knuckle on her clit. The orgasm comes on fast and she buries her face in my shoulder to stifle the noise when she comes.

“Mr. Leblanc,” she says. “Oh…”

I lose it when she bites into my shirt. Lose it at the sound of her moans through cotton and skin. I grip her hips with both hands and pull her down. Three deep thrusts and I pin her against me.

I haven’t come this hard in years. Ever. Shadows at the edge of my vision. Pressure everywhere. A one-two punch.

“Stay.” I can’t stop myself from saying it anymore than I can stop myself from spilling inside her. “Stay, Bristol.”

I am,she answers. I think. I can’t hear. I can’t see. I’m distantly aware of throwing my arms around her and holding her close. Distantly aware of her sweet, panting breaths.

On the inside, I’m battered. I’ve lost control. Gone against every instinct. I made things soft for her when it should have been awful. I made it mean something when it should have been nothing.

It’s just the sex. My blood pressure gone haywire. My thoughts. My brain.

This isn’t who I am.

I hold her for far too long.

Anyone could walk in, but I can’t bring myself to force her away.

Let them walk in. Let them find us here. Have the board remove me from the company. Throw us both out, together.

Yeah. I’ve lost it.

Eventually, Bristol picks up her head. We untangle ourselves from each other. She cleans herself up with a tissue from my desk, then turns back to face me, face red.

“Was there anything else you wanted?” A moment’s hesitation. “Mr. Leblanc?”

“You’re coming with me to dinner tonight.”

“What?” Bristol’s smile wrinkles her nose. “We can’t go to dinner together.”

“It’s a corporate dinner. I’m merging Summit with a company called Hughes Financial Services, and they want to take me out to celebrate. You’re coming with me.”

“What happens after you merge with them?” The smile has faded from her face. “Do you stay here, or go somewhere else?”

“You’ll be gone by then.”

I see the realization set in. We’re down to eight days. Six business days. They’re going to go fast, and then she’ll be out of my life. If I didn’t make her go, she’d leave anyway. That’s always how it is.

“Understand, Bristol, I’m not giving you a choice. I’m blackmailing you, and you’re coming to dinner as my date. You’re going to be beautiful and charming and sit next to me all evening. Wear something nice.”

BRISTOL

Mr. Leblanc sendsa car to pick me up for dinner, which is good, because I don’t want to wear my dress on the bus with its questionable floors and cracked plastic chairs. It’s a relief to sink into the leather seat and let him drive me away from the apartment complex.

A guilty relief. I’m leaving Mia and Ben with my dad for the evening.

Then again, I have an obligation to do whatever Mr. Leblanc says.

Then again…
