That heat spread. It was different this time. There was a steadiness to it, one edged in desperation. There was nothing I wanted more than Ramsey.

“Please.” It was the only thing I could think to say.

Ramsey’s fingers were gone, and then he was rolling on top of me, one hand framing my face. “I’d give you the world if it was within my power.”

“All I need is you.”

His tip bumped my entrance as my legs wrapped around his hips. Ramsey looked down at me, nothing but love in his eyes. He slid in slowly, and my fingers dug into his shoulders as he moved. There was a flicker of pain, but it quickly melted into that golden heat.

“Heaven,” he whispered in my ear. He pressed his lips to my temple, causing more of that heat to spread.

My hips moved in small, testing motions at first, sending sparks cascading across my skin and somewhere deeper. Ramsey met me exactly where I was, first with gentle thrusts and then deeper ones.

My back arched, welcoming him in, asking for more. He gave that to me. His hips angled in a way that had light dancing across my vision. Then, his thumb circled my clit, and I was drowning in sensation. So much that it had me fraying at the seams.

But I didn’t care. Every last piece of me could unravel because I was here with Ramsey. He was mine, and I was his. And he would always own my soul.

Ramsey groaned and thrust deep, right where I needed him. I gasped as I spiraled, losing sight of the world around me. But none of that mattered because we were losing sight of the world together, even as we found something new—our everything.

RAMSEY

I pulledShiloh against my side as we sat on the front steps watching the sunrise. I couldn’t stop touching her—my fingers tangling in her hair, my lips on her neck. Anything to have just a little more of her. I wanted her imprinted on every part of me.

Shiloh nuzzled in closer as Kai sniffed around the grass in front of the cabin. “I want to spend some time with Onyx today. Make sure she’s all right.”

“We can do that.” The mare munched on her breakfast in the round pen across the way, but I didn’t miss how she glanced around. She was on edge, waiting to see if Kenny would return. It would take time, but she’d feel safe again. And she’d reclaimed some of her power by taking him down as she had.

My lips ghosted over Shiloh’s hair. “What do you want for breakfast?”

She grinned. “Whatever you’re making. If I’m making it, it’s going to be cereal or scrambled eggs.”

I chuckled. “Fair enough.”

My phone buzzed on the steps behind me. I felt around for it and picked it up. “Hello?”

“Ramsey? It’s Sandy Miller.”

A lead weight settled in my stomach. “Are the boys okay?”

Shiloh straightened, motioning for me to put the phone on speaker.

“They’re perfectly safe and healthy, but I’m afraid Aidan heard about Shiloh’s attack from one of the neighborhood kids. He’s real torn up. Blaming himself.”

I muttered a silent curse. “We can come over to see him today.”

“I was hoping you’d say that. I think it might be good if you and he have some one-on-one time before Shiloh comes over. You can reassure him before he sees her.”

I glanced at Shiloh. She nodded, but I didn’t miss how her fingers dug into my thigh. She wanted to see Aidan, too, to reassure him herself and make sure that he was okay.

“I can be over by ten.”

“I’ll see you then. Thanks, Ramsey.”

I hit end on the call and set my phone down.

Shiloh stared out at the horizon. “It makes me want to give Kenny another knee to the balls for putting Aidan through this.”
