His eyes heated, that gold in them sparking. “It’s never a hardship to have my hands on you.”

I leaned forward, my breasts rising out of the water. My lips met his in a tender kiss that turned hungry.

Boden let out a sound that resembled a growl as he moved into me. The action forced me back, reclining against the tub. His hand slipped into the water, but this time he didn’t stop at my thighs. His fingers delved into the heat at the apex.

He teased me with lazy strokes as our tongues dueled. Each pass of his fingers over and around my clit drove me higher. As two fingers slid inside me, I moaned into Boden’s mouth.

His hand curled in a new kind of stroke. This one hit a spot that had me seeing stars behind my closed eyes. Boden pulled back from my lips as he continued his ministrations.

“Open your eyes.”

I couldn’t seem to get them to obey—too lost in sensation.

“I want to see that amber dance when you come. I want to see you shatter.”

The pure need in his voice was enough to have my lids fluttering open.

“That’s my girl.”

“Boden.” His name was a plea on my lips.

“Need more?”

“Yes.” I couldn’t find it in me to care that I was begging. I simply needed more. More of everything I was feeling.

A third finger slid inside me, and Boden’s thumb circled that bundle of nerves. My hips rose to meet him, silently asking for even more. His movements sped up, and my head tipped back on the end of the tub. Boden’s other hand found my breast, rolling my nipple between his fingers.

Sensation sparked across my skin. Everything in me tightened. There was a hint of pain cascading along my spine, but I didn’t give a damn. Everything else felt so alive—pinpricks of light and feeling everywhere.

“Open your eyes.” Boden’s gravelly voice cut through my haze.

I forced them open. I wanted to be with him in this moment, to let myself shatter without losing him for even a second.

Boden’s thumb pressed down on my clit as his fingers drove deeper. My mouth fell open in a silent gasp. It was as if I were pulling in everything around me. Each spark and sensation, the flame that was Boden, and all the love pouring out of his eyes. I took it all, and when I came apart, it was with Boden cemented on my very soul.

“I’d paintyour toes right now if we didn’t have to leave for dinner.” The idea that Laiken hadn’t been able to do something so simple that she obviously loved ate at me. I’d paint her toes every damn day if it would put a smile on her face.

Laiken arched a brow. “Really?”

“Hey, my fine motor skills are excellent.”

She let out a throaty laugh. One that had me fighting the urge to tug her into the bedroom for more of what we’d started earlier. Instead, I simply pulled her into my arms and brushed my lips against hers. “Love you.”

“Love you, too. I wish we hadn’t agreed to go to dinner.”

I brushed the hair away from her face. “I want to get to know your friends better.”

Addie had wanted everyone over for dinner after the search, saying we needed some time together. I didn’t disagree with that plan. I knew the day had been rough on Laiken and the time with people she cared about would help.

“Addie is an amazing cook.” Laiken’s stomach growled with that.

I pressed a kiss to her temple and released her. “Let’s get you fed.” I picked up two bully sticks from the counter and tossed them to Peaches and Gizmo on their dog bed. “Be good while we’re gone. No parties.”

Peaches barked and then dove for her bully stick.
