“Yes. Mark me up. Claim me as yours, because I’m going to make you mine, Sage. You always were. Even if you had to run away for a while, all that matters is that you’re back with me. Tell me you are, that you’re with me.”

I couldn’t reply. I felt maddened right now, heat flaring all across my skin, so he slowed his pace, growing slower and shallower until I growled at him.

“No. Lucien, no… I need…”

“What do you need?” He sounded heartbroken and heart full when he spoke, the hazel bleeding back into his eyes as he waited for me to answer. “Who do you need?”

My eyes studied his face, feeling like I was hovering around the edge of the unknown, but something held me back, stopped me until I found the magic word.

“You, Lucien.” My voice was a ragged mess right now, the wolf and the woman answering him. “I need you.”

“Then have me, all of me, because ready or not, here I come.”

His hips snapped forward, and I felt that terrible pressure, his knot demanding entrance, unwilling to be denied anymore, but I wouldn’t. They’d said they’d change me, but that had happened in ways that still surprised me, because I craved that damn massive lump right up until it locked down inside me.

I pulled away from him then, my head flopping down on the pillow, and as he moved in short little strokes, I did what a predator never does, except with the other part of their soul—I revealed my neck to him, and he took everything I had to give, licking, sucking the skin as his strokes got faster and more desperate, as my cries came with them.

Orgasm flared like a bursting star behind my eyelids, and when it did, when we did, his fangs struck, digging into my neck, just as mine did the same to him, that faint taste of coppery blood filling my mouth.

We lay togetherfor hours after that, the air cooling and growing cold, but we couldn’t seem to care. Something burned inside us now that kept us warm despite it, but eventually, the silence was broken by the sound of regular vibrations, Lucien groaning as he drew away only as far as it took to retrieve his phone, his knot still locked down tight inside me. He passed it to me because I saw Max’s caller ID flash up on the screen. I tapped on it to accept the call.

“What the fuck, Lucien? I agreed to this arrangement because you promised you would have Sage call me every day. She’s my fucking mate too, and right now, I’m looking at flights to come over there and whisk her away. See how you fucking like it.”

“Max?” I asked.

“Baby? Fuck, I’m sorry… Look, Lucien and me, we… God, just fucking talk to me, will you, just for a bit? It’s so damn good to hear your voice. My wolf has been going out of his fucking mind. I’ve taken to fur more times in the last few days than I ever have, and without warning. Joey thought it was fucking hilarious and has started calling me Fido at work.”

“Max.” I heard a long, slow, ragged breath, then another. “I love you.”

“I love you too, so much and—”

“I love Lucien too.”

Both men went very quiet at that, the one beside and inside me looking up, his entire attention focussed on me.

“I love Sage with my whole fucking heart,” Lucien told me, told the phone. “That’s why I stole her away. I knew I wouldn’t get a chance to do this again, not with you fucks around, so I took it—I took her.”

“Well, thank fuck,” Max said. “Can you come home now?”

We negotiated being back in three days, something Max argued long and hard with Lucien about, because he hadn’t been given any of that consideration. Lucien wanted to bristle, something in him instinctively ready to fight if anyone was, but I shut them both down. I’d be in Max’s bed, in his office, with him for the rest of the week when we got back. Anyone else who wanted to play would need to negotiate with him.

“Thank you, baby,” he said, letting out a long sigh. “Now, tell me what you guys have been up to.”

Lucien let me recount some of our stories, but not for long.

“If I’ve only got this time for just the two of us, I’m not wasting it,” Lucien whispered in a low voice, staring at me with a wicked grin. “Tell my brother about everything we’ve been doing, right before I make you come at least another few times.”

“All right, let’s take a look at your lapel mic,” Joey said, moving in closer.

Lucien and I had gotten back from Paris a week ago. We’d been hit by punishing jetlag, which took some recovering from, and my alphas seemed to think that needed to be done in our bed, a lot. Beau and Tobias slept with us at night, but when things started to get intimate, they’d slip out of the door, my eyes following them, which made me wonder what the hell else they had planned.

Today, I would find out two of them.

“Do I really need a mic in the boardroom?” I asked Joey.

She just shrugged and then shot me an impish smile.
