I had to admit I did think about it once since I’d claimed her the first time. “I don’t think that we should tell him anything for the time being,” I muttered into her chest.

Her arms that were wrapped around me playfully swatted my back. “We can’t just not tell him,” she said.

I laughed. “Oh, yes we can. The same way he didn’t tell us about his little situation.”

I felt her heavy sigh. “Marshall, just because he did it doesn’t mean we have to. Then that just creates a web of lies and secrets and nobody wants that.”

“Yeah, you’re right. Though, I will say that I’m not particularly fond of being a dead man walking.”

“He won’t do anything to you. He doesn’t have the right to.”

“And I’d definitely kick his ass,” I muttered.

“I say we just rip the bandage off as soon as he gets home. He’ll be in a relatively good mood after seeing Amelia and we can just tell him then.”

“Whenever you’re ready, I’m ready.”

She pulled my face back so she could search my eyes. “Are you sure? He is your best friend.”

“And he’s your brother.” I shrugged. “It doesn’t matter if he finds out now or later, because he will at some point.”

She nodded and placed a brief kiss on my lips. I was already primed to take her again.

My thoughts were interrupted when I heard the doorknob jiggle. Trisha’s eyes widened when she realized we’d been so lost in each other that we hadn’t heard Zane’s car pull up in the driveway.

And I’d been too angry when I heard she was out with Johnny to ensure the door was locked. So, we had no time to prepare ourselves for when Zane opened the door and found us together.

His eyes practically bulged out of his head. And I knew that he would attack me before he even did.
