“Well, look at you, precious.”

The alpha’s voice was deeper, throatier, as she held out an autocratic hand, and the omega took it, stepping free of the fabric. A small hiss of breath escaped Tristan at the sight of the omega climbing up onto the podium, not from arousal but shock. She was so beautiful, possessing the slender coltishness of someone much younger, though there was a wisdom and experience about her expression, it kind of hurt to look at her. She looked up through her lashes at the alpha on the stage, like she considered disobeying the order for a second, until she heard Glint’s growl of warning. Her smile was bright and brilliant as she took the alpha’s hand, and then I understood Glint’s towering heels. Like, they made her legs and arse looking fucking fabulous, but it also allowed her to meet the green-haired omega’s eyes head-on.

But that wasn’t what caught our, caught Tristan’s eye.

Tai inhabited her body entirely, radiating with a light that got you staring and kept you at it, but her body, it hadn’t been born in this form. Her breasts were sweet swellings, like a girl only just growing into a womanhood, and between her legs, a penis nestled, soft for now.

“My beautiful Tai,” Glint said. She stroked the other woman’s face, then darted forward, kissing her like she couldn’t wait any longer, and the omega, she melted into the alpha, surrendering completely to her frantic kisses. Glint’s hands seemed unable to settle, tracing the line of the omega’s shoulders, the hollows of her collarbones, the slope of her breasts, where her fingers glided over the small pink nipples, not tarrying, even as the omega began to moan into her mouth. But Glint, her fingers slid over a slender ribcage, down the flat of her stomach to cup Tai’s pubic mound.

“Glint…” the omega gasped out as the alpha toyed with her, her thighs sliding wider, giving her greater access. “Need you.”

“You left it too long, my love, but don’t worry. I have what you need.”

I looked across at Jackson and wondered why this was what he thought we should watch next. He seemed to observe the proceedings not so much from a sexual point of view, but more as if witnessing a sacred rite. His eyes shone, his smile small as he observed the alpha help the omega into the apparatus, its purpose now clear. Stirrups held the omega’s feet in place, forcing her to splay her thighs, all of her open and ready for her lover.

Once strapped in, Tai seemed to go into omega headspace, her eyes closing, her body restless. I was willing to bet I knew exactly what she was going through. That need, to have something forced up inside you, to make your body stretch and contort to take a knot, knowing you needed to stay still to receive it but unable to do it.

“Stop, omega,” Glint said, the crack of her bark palpable, even over the noise in there, my body and Tai’s both going quiet at the unfocussed command. “You’ll get what you need, you know that.”

That chiding tone was sheer fucking genius, making you feel bad for even thinking of getting wriggly, forcing you still from guilt and need. I studied Tai’s face, her body, and saw all the signs I knew so well but had never seen before. Tristan, I’d never seen this in him, a need to surrender, to give himself over so completely, to take that heroic leap of faith, if only just for this sexual encounter. For all the posturing from betas and alphas, we omegas were the bravest of all the designations. They never stood there, lay there, sat there, completely naked, all boundaries down, not one fucking thing to hide behind.

Like Tai did right now.

“You’re needy, omega?” Glint asked. She seemed unable to keep her hands off the woman, cupping Tai’s breasts, thumbing her tight little nipples, bending over and br

ushing her lips across the closest one as Tai began to whine. “You are.” Glint’s voice was deep and warm like a blanket, rubbing over Tai and me, even as she teased the other omega higher. “You need this.”

That tone, that complete and utter sense of understanding, it had my knees weakening. I felt a flash of jealousy so utterly vicious, it took my breath away and had me stumbling until a strong pair of hands went to my shoulders, straightening me up, helping me find my balance. Tristan turned at that, caught the way Len’s hands wrapped around me, his brows creasing in response, but the perfect clarion call of pleasure that burst from Tai jerked our attention back. Glint’s perfectly manicured red nails pinched one of Tai’s nipples while her lips fastened around the other, suckling with a single-minded focus, pulling away periodically to praise Tai and her perfection, until finally, the omega’s hand tugged at her alpha’s hair. Glint stared up at her, panting to catch her breath.

“Already?” The omega nodded almost shamefacedly. “Sweetheart, you need to come see me more often. I hate rushing things with you.” Tai gave a little whine in response to that. “But I’ve always got what you need. I’ll lick your clit, get you all sensitive, and then I’ll give you my knot.”

“Yes, please, please, Glint. I need it, please.”

Glint chuckled at the stream of pleas as she dragged over a stool with castors on the bottom, sitting down once she grabbed the lube. She held up the bottle and her slender fingers, clenching them into a fist with a theatrical flair, then Tai’s pupils blew wide as Glint drizzled the sticky liquid across her knuckles. We’d never tried anything with female alphas, but I could see what was happening. Alphas loved to show their knots off, to get their omegas all worked up, crying and whining for more as they stood over you, craving what they had deep. As Glint swiped her fingers across Tai’s arse, parting the other woman’s buttocks, she dropped her head between Tai’s thighs and kissed the other woman tenderly.

Glint moved slowly, methodically, kissing Tai’s penis—no, her clit, as Glint called it, with a kind of repressed passion that made my nails dig into my arms. Her tongue traced the entire length of Tai’s clit, focussing mostly on the sensitive head, then suckling the whole thing into her mouth to the sounds of her omega’s cries. I frowned slightly, saw that the shaft swelled somewhat in response, but it wasn’t the hard thrusting thing I was used to. It wasn’t supposed to be.

“You like that, baby?” Glint asked, and Tai moaned helplessly, writhing now on the bed as Glint bent her head down again.

“Oh fuck, Glint…” she hissed, bucking her head up in a way I completely understood. When an alpha teased your clit, making it oh so sensitive, making you want more but refusing to give it to you, you thrust your cunt up into their face, like Tai did now, chasing it, the friction, the contact, the surrender.

I knew what being trans was, sort of, but like most cis-gender people, I didn’t really. Like somehow, I was surprised to see myself in the way Tai moved and responded, but of course I did. She was an omega, she was a woman, and I knew what she needed next.

Tai’s thighs were wet with her slick, drenched in her need for her alpha, and Glint, she worked Tai’s arse open and teased her, giving her only a finger at first, making the omega cry out for more, only to give it to her. Glint listened to the steady stream of pleas in the way that all alphas did—calmly acknowledging, but moving at her own pace. The one she believed that Tai needed. One finger slid in, deeply, slowly, forcing Tai to feel every slender inch, then as she grew restive, another, then another. I watched Tai’s arse grow puffy and swollen, parting more and more easily as another finger was pushed in. Then slowly, slowly, to the strangled sounds of Tai’s pleasure, Glint had her love take her knot, pushing her fist inside.

“Baby…”

The one word, it could’ve been missed in the hubbub, but I moved closer, off to the side, watching Glint’s face, catching the glitter of tears beneath the sparkle of her eye makeup. She stared up at Tai as she lay on the bed, her arms thrown above her head, her face a mask of ecstasy, her clit jumping spasmodically in time with her moans, the movements growing sharper and more desperate. I looked away, my heart rattling around in my chest wildly, scanning the men beside me, searching for…what? Fuck, I didn’t know, I felt I wouldn’t ever know, but it was Tris’ face I settled on, knowing the truth as soon as I met his eyes.

His eyes were shuttered, his face shut down, but it was there, he couldn’t hide it. He’d looked at me like Glint did Tai, been like this, played with me like this. I knew that, always, on some level, but right fucking now? The evidence of it was shoved up in my face, unable to be ignored, and then there was them.

Jackson, I didn’t even know him, yet that expression, that look on his fucking face, told me something hanging out and shooting the shit wouldn’t—he longed for a version of what he saw with every breath inside him, not with Glint nor Tai, but the bond between them. He wanted that, needed that, just as much as Tai’s moans told Glint what she needed, and even though he might not be biologically impelled to surrender like an omega, he’d give it a bloody good go. His eyes went to the floor and slid sideways in a way I was sure they did all the damn time—going to Len.

And Len, he watched everything—me, Tris, Glint, Tai, the whole fucking club. He watched it all and waited, ready. If I declared I wanted to be up on the platform in some kind of insane second act to Glint and Tai, he’d have me up there, sit himself down on that stool, and take care of me, of Tris, of everyone who needed it until he had nothing left to give. A tear I hadn’t even felt form fell free, rolling down my cheek, another falling not long afterwards.

Right then, I saw Tristan’s future, his mate. Len was all alpha, but in a way that was so completely different to what I had known, it’d been difficult to see it. His prime imperative was to care for and to look after everyone he loved, and he would do whatever it took to do that. What Tris wanted, what he needed, Len would provide it. I couldn’t even use Len’s gang background to discredit him, as he’d apparently built himself some kind of legitimate business empire. No, Len was perfect.

So I took a step backwards away from that, away from the person I loved most in the fucking world, who was my whole damn heart, because omegas, we understood taking care of those we loved as well. Not always pampered little pets, omegas had ripped house invaders apart when posing threats to their children, lifted cars off babies, fought and killed alphas who took it in their head to try and smack them around. We were powerful, and I knew what I needed to do with my power. The words were on my lips, ready to be spoken, my grand gesture, but that was quashed before I got a chance to speak. Hands landed on my shoulder, spinning me around with an abruptness that had my hackles raising, until I saw him.
