We said hello, but she paid us little mind, her focus intensifying as she looked the two of us over from head to toe. An alpha, I’d be willing to bet.
“Omegas,” she said, looking aside at Len. “Omegas teetering on the edge…of what? What are you bringing into my club, Lennox?”
“My special guests,” he replied, not flinching for a second from her inspection. “Omegas Jacks and I will keep safe.”
“Keep safe? Not the way they are.” I didn’t see where she produced the pills from, but there they were, small and red and lying on her palm. “But these may help. Omegas’ bodies declare their receptiveness in a way their minds might not welcome, but in here, that distinction might get lost.”
“If they don’t consent, people get kicked out,” Jackson insisted.
“Yes, but before my people get to your little omega’s sides? These are not suppressants but de-scenters. They strip an omega’s signature aroma from them, make them as if they were betas for the night. They can walk my halls, play in my playground, and no one will know what they are.”
“Athena—” Len started to say, but Tristan shouldered forward, moving until he was just out of reach of the woman then looked down at her palm.
“We could be anything we want?”
“Alpha, omega, beta, those are not fixed things here, nor is gay, straight, bisexual, male, female.” Her fingers began to curl, but Tristan’s snapped out and stopped her. “Some say the angels fell from heaven to create hell, but what if they jumped?” Her eyes glittered with a strange light. “What if they wanted a world beyond the crushing rules of nature? What if they wanted to make something new?”
Her other hand moved up, a single finger pressing itself under his chin as she inspected his face closely.
“You, beautiful boy, I could believe was such an angel, but to do so, you must cast off your wings.”
“Trist—” Len was about to warn him off, but he had the pills off her palm and into his moments later.
“Cost?” he asked.
“For you two pretty things, nothing. You come to my club to play, others will come to watch. I, myself, would love that privilege.”
“Side effects?”
“A mild hallucinogen, a muscle relaxant, but no serious side effects. I have a chemist friend who has an interest in transcending the limits of designation. She’s out there somewhere.”
We looked across the floor, past the sprinkling glitter streaming from the ceilings, the sweeping lights, and saw dark figures swinging on trapezes, leaning back and forth to increase their momentum, hands reaching out to brush their bodies as they passed.
“She’s quite brilliant. We funded her lab to produce the drug to help our alphas and omegas enjoy more freedoms. It’s been extensively tested, but of course, you try it at your own risk.”
“You don’t need to do this,” Len said. “Jackson and I, we’ll protect you.”
“I don’t want to be protected,” Tristan said defiantly, taking one and swallowing it down, moving the other close to his lips. “I want to be free to be who I am.”
Then he turned to me, something lighting inside him that I h
adn’t seen for so long, not since before we discovered what we were. His eyes danced as his smile went crooked, and he placed the pill between his lips and then bent down to put it to mine. I kissed him because he was my Tristan and, whatever journey he was on, I was with him.
Until it came to an end.
As was often the case with drugs, the results were kinda anticlimactic at first, no instant swelling of limbs or dropping to the ground, just him wrapping his arm around me, stroking my hair away from my face.
“Now, my pretties, we need to get you bracelets. Have your protective alpha and beta explained the rules of my domain?”
“Nothing we don’t give consent for,” Tristan answered automatically, but his focus was still on me.
“And to stop you both from being mobbed by the crowds, you wear these.”
She gestured to a wall of different silicone bracelets as she got to her feet, the full effect of her regalia revealed. She wore toweringly high heels made from silver Lucite, the streamers of her dress parting to reveal a metallic harness and a long dick made from glittery silicone. She gave it a quick stroke, smiling at the two of us before plucking two white bands off the wall and holding them out to us.
“Anyone interested in the two of you must wait until you approach them. They can’t come close, flirt, propose, or proposition anything without your initial approval. It makes you untouchable in my club, until such a point as you decide to be touched. If you wish for something else—”
“That’ll be perfect for us,” Len said.
