She tried getting up, but she was still feeling disoriented. She pressed her palm against her forehead. She was burning up.

“I don’t feel so good,” she said.

“It’s the tea,” Amelie explained. “I know it’s sounds counterintuitive, but the more you drink, the more your blood will purify, and you will start feeling better.”

“You’re right,” Eva nodded, “that does sound counterintuitive.”

Still, she took hold of the cup and downed everything. It tasted weird, but pleasant.

“Maybe, you shouldn’t have drunk all of it so quickly,” Amelie looked at her, worriedly.

Eva started feeling groggy, almost drunk. Then, that same feeling of nausea returned, with a vengeance. She managed to turn to the side just in time and vomit into a container Amelie had put there for that very purpose. It came out of her in one big gush and it didn’t even hurt that much this time. Almost like the worst was already out, and these were just some minor leftovers she needed to get rid of. Feeling like it was finally finished, she pulled herself back up. Her face frowned, as she looked at the container.

“What the Hell?” Eva shrieked, realizing she had that she vomited something black and sticky. “Did that come out of me!?”

Amelie grabbed the container and rushed outside. A few seconds later, she returned, under the watchful gaze of Eva and Sebastian. They saw that the container was empty.

“That has been poisoning you,” Amelie explained, sitting down on the bed next to her. “Whatever they’ve been putting in your drinks at school, this is the result.”

“Is it all out now?” Eva was beside herself with shock at what she just saw.

“How do you feel?”

Instead of a reply, Eva tried to get up. She had regained full control of her body. That inner disturbance seemed to have disappeared. She stretched out her arms and fingers. Nothing was shaking. It

was her body once again. It was calm, and under control.

“I think I’m okay,” she replied, releasing a sigh of relief.

She turned to Sebastian and saw him smile.

“I feel good,” Eva continued.

“I’m happy you feel good, dear, but we mustn’t let our guard down,” Amelie warned her. “The enemy is still lurking from the dark and we are not ready to face it yet.”

“How is my dad?”

“He is still recovering, but he is much better, I can assure you of that.”

“Did you hear that, Sebastian?” she turned to him, with a broad smile on her face. “He’s doing much better and I’ll get to see him soon!”

“Here,” Amelie spoke softly, as she handed her a little pouch.

It felt soft to the touch, as Eva accepted it into her hands.

“What is this?” she asked.

“It’s red clover. You have to make tea from it. I thought It would be enough for you to drink it occasionally, but this…” she paused, and they all remembered what they had seen in the container, “this is powerful dark magic and they are shoving it down your throat. I’m guessing Xol’gorog is getting impatient and needs your blood to be ready soon. That’s why we need to be ready as well.”

“Thank you,” Eva squeezed the pouch.

“Remember to drink it every day, in the evening, before you go to sleep.”

“Will it make me vomit again?”

“It shouldn’t,” Amelie shook her head. “It should all be out now. You felt so violently ill because you were full of that darkness. Now, a daily amount will be easily cleansed by the tea. Just don’t forget to drink it. It’s imperative.”

“I won’t.”
