“She doesn’t seem to feel that way.”
“Well, that’s her problem, isn’t it?” Dorian grinned. “I’ve got someone else in mind.”
“Really?” Eva pretended to be all nonchalant but she was dying to know who that was. “That’s nice.”
“Sure is.”
“Is she interested?” she wondered, her voice taking on a teasing tone.
“I’m still trying to find out.”
“We kinda like the same girl, you see,” Frey interrupted, eyeing her closely, to see her reaction.
“You should ask her what she thinks about that, her answer might surprise you,” Eva said, with a special feeling of satisfaction, as she saw their jaws almost drop to the ground.
“You think?” Frey asked.
“You can’t know until you ask,” she replied, mysteriously.
“That’s true,” Dorian nodded, agreeing. “What could the scenario be if she agrees? I mean, hypothetically.”
“Hypothetically?” she repeated.
“Of course,” th
ey both quickly nodded.
“Well…” she started, “hypothetically speaking, she might tell you to go to hell. Also, she might be polyamorous and she might actually want the same thing as you guys want. A relationship with several people, where everyone is involved.”
“See, that’s very interesting, that second scenario,” Dorian leaned in a little more towards her. “Tell us more.”
“What is there to tell?” she laughed. “I just explained the whole situation. If you want me to tell you what the sex would look like, well… you need to buy me dinner, first.”
She had no idea where that came from but once she said it, it was too late to take it back. She looked at both of them frantically, waiting to see their reaction. Was it too much? Was she too crude?
It took them a second to register what she had said and then, they burst out laughing.
“That was awesome,” Frey commented. Then, he continued in a hushed tone of voice. “Since Dorian is usually the jokes guy and I take over the serious talk, I guess what I wanted to ask you is whether that hypothetical situation would ever be possible.” He asked as sweetly as he could.
It was definitely not the kind of question she had expected to be asked, all the more so because no one usually understood how polyamory really worked. Everyone just thought that people got to fuck whoever they wanted and that was it. She was finding it increasingly difficult to explain that there was so much more to the idea of polyamory but, eventually, she would just give up, in most cases, because people were so stubborn in their belief that only their way of loving was the right way. So, she just let them live in that conviction.
“Because, we really like you,” Frey nodded, “and it’s all new to us. We both realized that we were into each other but we also like girls, too. Shit, that sounds complicated…” he nervously raked his fingers through his hair.
She loved that she was seeing the softer side of the two of them. They were revealing their true natures to her and she thought that, maybe, she could trust them.
“I know,” she nodded.
“You do?” Dorian asked.
“I find it difficult to explain to others, too, when they ask. So, I just stopped explaining. I just don’t talk about it, normally, but if someone knows how it functions, well, it’s a pleasure to talk to them.”
“So… does that mean...?” Frey couldn’t finish his question but she could see the joyful gleam in his eyes.
“I think we’re on the same page here,” she nodded, “but, there’s a condition.”
“A condition?” the guys asked.
“There is someone else I want involved, too.”
