Alcy stared at him, his cheeks almost the same shade as his hair. “Tobewith him. Sexually, I mean. Except… I’ve never had sex, and—oh Supreme, do you think they’d strip me of being a host?”
“If they would, they’d have to do the same to me. Justlookat me.” Beez chuckled. “Sex demons don’t cuddle. We don’t stroke hair, unless someone is sucking our cocks. I’ve done things with Carter that belong more in your arena than in mine. And worse? Ienjoyedthem.”
“Beez?” Carter’s voice was soft, almost tentative.
Beez frowned. “I thought you were sleeping?”
“Well, now I’m awake.” He smiled from the doorway. “Do it.”
Beez tilted his head and peered at Carter. “Do what?”
He coughed. “Kiss Alcy. You know you want to. Do it.”
Chapter Sixteen
Beez stared into Alcy’s beautiful eyes, and suddenly he couldn’t breathe. “Go back to sleep, Carter,” he croaked, unable to tear his gaze away.
“Not until you kiss him. I want you to know what it’s like. My kisses could never compare to Alcy’s.” Carter sighed. “Justdoit, Beez.”
His lips suddenly seemed drier than the Sahara, and he licked them with a forked tongue. Kiss Alcy? Could he do that?
More importantly, did Alcywanthim to?
“Angel, I—”
Alcy touched Beez’s face, stroking his fingers over Beez’s goatee. Beez closed his eyes and sighed. No other touch had ever been like this.
“Did you want to kiss me, Beezlebub?”
Beez cupped Alcy’s face with both hands. “More than anything.” Then he brought their mouths together.
It was a chaste kiss, and yet… In the hallways of Beez’s mind, doors sprang open, releasing thoughts and urges he’d never once acknowledged out loud—and all of them clamored for Beez to give in, to let go. To take what he wanted, because he wanted it. Not because it was a job.
“Alcy….”
His Angel drew back, eyes wide.
Oh Supreme, have I just screwed up?
Alcy stared at Beez. “Who are you?” he whispered.
Beez frowned. “I think that kiss scrambled your brain.”
“I’m being serious. You… you’re not the same Beez who once bedded an entire football team, leaving them drained and begging for mercy, then headed over to the sorority and made the women there all scream like banshees.”
Beez gaped. “How did you—who told?”
Alcy smiled. “You think word of your exploits doesn’t get around?” He traced the line of Beez’s jaw with his fingertips. “ButthisBeez…. This Beez is gentle. Tender. Caring.”
And if Beez could be something different, why couldn’t he? Why deny the attraction he’d always felt? Why not live for thenow? Because tomorrow he and Beez might well be separated again, and it could be thousands of years until the next time they saw each other.
What if tonight is all we get?
“And now it’s your turn,” Carter said softly, and Alcy gave a start to find him standing beside them. Carter’s eyes gleamed. “Kiss him.”
Could he go against thousands of years of what he believed to be his role? The thought of losing it all rocked him. “I—I can’t,” Alcy said.
“Sure you can.” Carter grinned wickedly. “Want me to show you how?”
