She stared up at me, her big blue eyes wide, and asked, "Is there anything I can do for you?"
There were plenty of things she could for and to me, and none of them had anything to do with making appointments. Christ, I wasn't going to be able to keep her around if my mind kept wandering to what she looked like bent over my desk with my cock inside her.
"I figured you'd probably be hungry soon. What would you like me to order for you from the Chinese restaurant?"
"Oh, Mr. Tanchen, you don’t really have to do that,” she said sweetly.
I shook my head. "No, I insist. It’s your first day, after all."
"Okay. I guess General Tso's Chicken sounds good. Ever since you mentioned it before, I have to admit my mouth has been watering. I was thinking of grabbing some after I leave today, so thank you."
"It's my pleasure. I'll call the order in now. Just let me know when the food arrives."
The problem was after I ordered the food, I still couldn't concentrate on my work. I kept looking out across the hall toward where Emma sat, every moment filled with sexy thoughts about my new secretary.
Unable to fight the desire to be near her, I abandoned all hope of getting anything done before lunch and walked back across the hall. "Are you finding you have any questions about anything, Emma?"
She looked up at me with confusion in her eyes. No wonder. She didn't exactly have the most challenging job in the world, and she probably wondered why I kept hovering around her like some micromanaging asshole.
"I think I’m fine so far. I know it must be a big adjustment getting used to trusting a complete stranger with your business, but I promise that I won't do anything to disappoint you."
Great. Now I'd made her feel like I didn't trust her to make appointments for me. I actually was that micromanaging asshole I'd hated at every job I'd ever had.
Taking a step closer toward her desk, I shook my head. "It's not that at all. I guess I'm just not used to having another person around in the office. I'm so used to my partner being away all the time. I didn't mean to bother you," I said, adding pathetic to my list of traits I'd shown my new hire.
I turned to leave, but Emma said, "I'd be happy to hear any suggestions you might have for me. I'm here to serve your needs, so if you have any ideas on how I can do that better, I'm eager to hear them."
For a moment, I froze in place. Her words were innocent enough, but the way my brain heard them made me think of all the delicious ways I would love for her to serve me. On her knees sucking my cock was the one my mind settled on, making me get hard just standing there.
I nodded and turned around as I hoped my hard on went away. Gesturing at the computer in front of her, I said, "I see you're alternating between programs a little slowly. It'll be easier for you if you do this." I showed her the keys to hit to alternate faster, and she tried it herself. "It'll make setting appointments while looking up any information you might need a lot faster. Trust me."
Emma turned to look up at me and smiled. "Interesting. I would have never known that. Thanks."
I liked being able to show her things, and before I knew it, I was showing her dozens of tips and tricks on the computer as I kneeled next to her. She would smile at me, and I couldn't help thinking she had the prettiest smile I had ever seen. It was small, not a big, toothy grin, and innocent just like she seemed. Just as I was allowing myself to delve deeper into thoughts I shouldn’t have been having as I kneeled beside her, the doorbell rang.
"Oh, the food is here!" Emma said as she jumped up from her chair and ran to answer the door.
She set it down on the counter in the kitchen, where I waited for her. My partner and I never ate together at work, so I hadn't considered that I should have bought some furniture for Emma so she could enjoy lunch each workday. All we had were two barstools and a pub height table I'd grabbed from a friend when he was getting rid of his furniture after his wife left him.
"Sorry about the seating. I'll look into getting a table and chairs so you can have somewhere to relax and eat your lunch every day."
As she unloaded our two orders of General Tso's Chicken and fried rice onto the counter, she shrugged. "Oh, please don't feel like you have to on my account. I can eat standing up, if I have to."
She opened a drawer near her and then the one next to it before turning toward me. "I guess you don't have any silverware. It's okay. They gave us plastic forks in the bag, I think."
"Let me run upstairs to my apartment and get us some real forks," I said as I took a step toward the door.
Emma stopped me with her hand on my arm. "It's okay, Mr. Tanchen. I'm good with plastic forks."
For a moment, I didn't know what to say. Ordinarily, I would have just sat down, but something about her hand on my forearm made me wish she wouldn't move it. I knew she had to, though, and when she did, I took a deep breath and blew it out of my lungs slowly, hoping to stop myself from going full-blown fantasy on my new secretary.
"No problem. If you're good, I'm good too," I said as casually as possible and grabbed my container of food.
We ate in silence, which only made it more difficult not to daydream about her, so after a few minutes, I said, "I admire that you want to go to school so much. I hated every moment of it. I wanted to be out in the world doing things instead of wasting my time relearning what I already knew."
I grabbed two sodas from the refrigerator and handed her one as I gestured around the room, "The moment I got my degree I began putting all of this into motion. It took a lot of hard work. It didn’t hurt that my family had some money and invested, of course."
"You're a lucky person, Mr. Tanchen. You've found something you love and you're succeeding at it."
