They had so many questions I didn’t have answers to myself. I sat confused and so turned on my clit ached. I ended the night once Nyla called with her own million and one questions.

“I see that kiss still has your nose wide open,” Nyla teases as she walks up to my desk.

I sigh and shake my head. I warred with myself all night Saturday. I know Dante said he would be waiting for me, but I didn’t want to embarrass myself again by going to his room. Instead, I spent the night tossing and turning.

I didn’t see him all Sunday. He and Bella spent the day out. All that confidence building I did with Ny wasn’t enough to get me to go talk to him once they came home for the night. This morning the ride into work was intense.

Dante seemed to be in a mood, and I felt foolish about bringing the other night up. However, I can’t stop smiling.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” I say and start to fix the papers on my desk.

“Sure, whatever, did you at least put on the lingerie like I told you?”

I roll my eyes. I did listen to her. Although I don’t know why.

She gives me a knowing look when I don’t answer. I squirm in my seat under her gaze. Sometimes my sister knows me too well. I drop my eyes to my desk, and she laughs at me. I mean, a deep belly laugh. I pick up a paper clip and throw it at her.

“Don’t you have some work to do?”

“Nope, I don’t know how you did this boring job for so long,” she mutters.

“Gio made it fun,” I say and watch for her reaction. This time, she’s the one to start squirming as a frown comes to her face.

“That puppet master is the last person I want to spend all my time with. I try to keep the schedule in order, so I don’t have to get involved with him.”

“You sure about that?” I say as Dante and Gio come off the elevator, Jace following behind them.

Nyla stiffens before she even turns to see them. I snicker, but my laughter is cut off when Dante looks in my direction and locks gazes with me. There’s so much heat in his eyes my panties flood and a shiver runs through me.

Dante and Gio head for the conference room, where Dante’s next meeting awaits. I stand and gather the box of presentation folders.

“Do you have to sit through this one?” Nyla asks.

“No, I just need to get these in there. I should have done it by now instead of daydreaming.”

“Have lunch with me.”

“Okay, give me a sec.”

“Let me get that for you,” Jace comes over and says, plucking the box from my arms.

“Where are you taking this to?”

“The conference room.”

I don’t miss that his gaze is locked on Nyla. She turns back for her desk area, placing a hand on Jace’s waist as she passes by him. It’s such a subtle gesture but brings a huge smile to Jace’s face.

As he moves forward, holding the box he took from me, I watch my sister. I wonder if she realizes what she just did. I turn my attention to Jace and note how handsome he is.

His long blond hair is pulled up in a topknot today. Jace has pretty but masculine features. His eyes seem to change colors. I’ve seen them green, gray and a very light brown. I’ve rarely seen him smile, but it’s gorgeous when he does.

Yet, there’s no mistaking this man is dangerous. I’ve seen Gio lose his temper. Somehow that triggers Jace and Lord, that’s something I’ll forever avoid. I’ve seen both men transform before my eyes.

I open the conference room door for Jace to pass me by. His cologne leaves a trail. Yes, Jace is an attractive man. However, my attention is stolen the moment I enter the room. Dante looks up as I turn my eyes to him. He still has that intense pissed-off look from this morning on his face. He nods me over and I move to the head of the table where he sits.

He stands and dips his head to lean into my ear. “I’ve been dealing with bullshit all morning. I haven’t eaten. Can you order lunch for us and join me in my office? We’ll be working late tonight. Gio is going to spend time with Bella. Plan to have dinner here as well.”

“No problem. Is there anything you have a taste for?”

He drops his eyes to my mouth and licks his lips. Suddenly his expression changes as if he’s annoyed.

“No, you decide. I’ll eat whatever you choose.”

“Got it.”

He nods and I turn to rush out. Gio stops me before I can exit. He holds my arm and looks over my face. I don’t know what he sees, but he looks over my head and grunts. I look over my shoulder to see Dante watching us with a frown.
