The force of Heath’s thrust made Kane’s throbbing cock rub against the bedsheets. The glorious friction was too much.
“I can’t hold on any longer, love. I’m going to come.”
“Let me hear you.”
Heath penetrated one more time before Kane arched his head back as he let the warmth flood through him, ending with his climax shooting out onto the bed. A few moments later, Heath tightened his grip, forcing himself to the hilt and then letting out his own triumphant cry as he released inside Kane.
Neither could move. If Heath hadn’t been holding onto Kane, he would have crumbled in a heap of sexual satisfaction. Finally, Heath released him, and they fell onto the bed, happily entangled in each other’s arms. The huge grin on Heath’s face told Kane all he needed to know. He brushed back some hair which had fallen in front of Heath’s face.
“That was wonderful.”
Heath chuckled. “I must say it was fantastic, something that I am happy to repeat.”
“You will have to give me a bit to rest first.”
“You can have all the time in the world.” Heath leaned in and kissed him.
They lay together, illuminated only by moonlight streaming through the window. Kane felt the steady beat of Heath’s heart against his chest. After all these years, a peacefulness came over Kane, a sense that everything was right.
Not quite everything. Kane finally remembered he hadn’t told Heath about his newfound wealth.
Kane sat up in bed. “I nearly forgot to tell you. While I was visiting my parents, I was told an uncle of mine had died and he left me an inheritance. A rather sizable inheritance, so I thought perhaps we could be partners.”
Now it was Heath’s turn to sit up. “What do you mean, partners?”
“Well, for starters, we could be business partners. I could buy shares of the brewery, perhaps do some other investments.”
“Then you wouldn’t have to worry about my awful suggestion of being the estate manager.” Heath let out a loud sigh. “But that doesn’t fix one problem.”
“What?”
“What do we say about us? How do we explain why you are living with me?”
Kane cupped Heath’s cheek. “Does it really matter? You can still tell people I’m the estate manager.”
“No. I won’t do that. I won’t sully what we have with lies.”
“People will guess as to our relationship. I’m sure some won’t care, and if there are others who make a stink, let them. I’m tired of not living the life I want, and I want it with you.” He kissed Heath’s still swollen lips. “I know we can never be married, but I would still love to spend the rest of my life with you, if you’ll have me.”
Heath pulled Kane to him, sealing his lips again with a longer, deeper embrace that answered his question. “Yes.”
They rolled back onto the bed and soon their passions were aroused again.
The next morning, Kane lounged in bed. There would be no slinking to his room in case anyone saw him. He was determined to live in the open at the house, and Heath had agreed prior to them falling asleep the other night. Heath planned on speaking with Jenkins and Mrs. Baum that morning about the arrangements, which included Kane sharing Heath’s bedchamber.
Kane eventually left to get dressed, then came back to Heath’s room so they could walk down together.
“By the way, Caroline knows about us,” he said as he fixed Heath’s tie.
“What did she say?”
“Like the Dawkins, she is happy for us.”
Heath smiled. “It’s comforting to know we have friends we can depend on.”
“Yes, it is.” Kane put his arms around Heath’s neck. “Now let’s go get some breakfast. I’m famished after last night.” He winked before taking Heath’s hand.
Later that morning, they waited in the drawing room for the butler and housekeeper to appear. Heath tapped his leg nervously against the chair. Kane put a calming hand on his leg and gave him a reassuring smile.
