Duncan kissed her forehead.

They pulled up to her house and waited for Jamison to open the door. Duncan got out, reached back in, and took her hand. He wrapped an arm around her and walked into the house. When she suddenly stiffened, he glanced down at her. “What’s wrong?”

She tried to smile up at him and shook her head. “Nothing.”

“Hey,” Mateo said as he walked over to them. “What up with you guys?”

“We have some news to tell you, Trent, and Mama.”

“She’s in the office right now. Let’s go.”

Duncan closed the door behind them and faced her mother and her two men.

“Mama, guys, Duncan and I are getting married.”

Her mother cried out, stood, and raced over to them to pull her daughter into her arms. “I’m so happy for you, baby.”

“Thank you, Mama.”

The men pounded on his back and shook his hand.

“Congratulations, Duncan. You take care of our girl.”

“You know I will.”

“Have you set a date?” Aria asked.

Duncan chuckled. “Friday.”

Aria’s mouth dropped open. “Wait, that’s only two days away.”

“I think we’re making it a family tradition.”

Everyone laughed, and he stood back while they askedAngelica a few questions.

Chapter Seven

“I have a dress you might like for your wedding gown, honey.”

“Can I see it, Mama?”

“Of course. Let’s go find it now.”

Her mother took her hand and led her out of the office and up the steps. Angelica looked around when she had the same feeling of being watched but didn’t see anything.

“Are you all right, baby?”

“Yes. I’m just nervous.”

Aria chuckled. “Those Maclean men aren’t patient, are they?”

Angelica laughed. “Not as far as I’ve seen yet.”

The women went through the closet and found the dress Angelica would wear.

“This is perfect, Mama.”

“I thought it would be.”
