“They’ll be fine.”
Her eyes narrowed. “Get out of my fucking way.”
“No. I want to explain about last night.”
She looked confused. “Last night?”
“When you saw that woman leave my room. I didn’t ask her to come to me, and I certainly didn’t want her there, so I kicked her out.”
Angelica stiffened. “I don’t give a fuck what you do.”
He scowled. “I don’t like you talking like that.”
“I don’t give a fuck,” she yelled.
“You better watch it. You’re very close to going over my knees.”
“I dare you. I would cut your dick off and shove it down your throat if you even tried.”
He snorted. “Are you listening to me about the maid?”
“I seriously don’t care.”
He leaned against the door and smiled. “Oh, I think you do care.”
“Whatever.”
“You cried last night,” he said.
“Yes.”
“About me,” he surmised.
She smiled, but it didn’t go to her eyes. “No. I miss the lover that I have at home.”
Her words didn’t sink in at first, and then when they did, a fury, unlike anything he’d felt before, speared through him. There was no fucking way another man was going to take her from him. Over his dead body.
Chapter Five
Oh, shit. Why in the hell did she have to say that? Now he looked like he was about ready to explode. She backed up quickly when he headed for her and then gasped when her back hit the wall.
He pressed his chest against hers and put his hands on the wall by both shoulders, pinning her.
“Now, tell me again, what you just said,” he said.
She swallowed. “Oh, well, I…”
“Angel, I’ve got to warn you right now that if you talk about another man, I’m going to lose it.”
“Are you threatening me?” she hissed.
“Yes.”
She smacked his chest. “You’re not the boss of me.”
He grunted, lifted her off her feet, walked her to the bed, and laid her down before he came down on top of her. He spread her legs apart with his hips and then made himself comfortable against her clit.
“Get off of me, you bastard.”
