“Teresa,” he says.
“Remember when you brought me here. I thought you were out of your mind, talking about how you are not a good person but you are not a bad person either.” I start off. Alexander nodding his head.
“Originally there was another purpose behind it.”
“Right, but you said to take a chance. To say yes to adventure.”
“I remember darlin’” He says taking a step closer.
I bring out his anniversary card out of my pocket. “How about we start our new adventure?” handing the card over.
He looks at me puzzled, tearing open the card, reading the front of it, then slowly opening it to the inside. His eyes are growing larger but softer. “You really are?”
Inside I had a special patch made for him giving him a new title of “Papa wolf”. Something that matches the other patch reading “Mama bear” in my pocket with a pregnancy test along side with it.
“What do you say papa wolf, you ready for a little cub in the house?” I ask, as he gathers me up in his arms twirling me around, slamming his lips into mine. This was all the answer I needed. He puts me back down. “You know how hard it was to make Memphis keep a secret?”. I know full well that if we have a girl there is only one name I want to name her.Lucie.
“Probably torture.” he says. “Honestly, I thought you really wanted to walk down memory lane.”
“I mean, no one says we can’t.” I give him a coy smile. Part of me is excited for this.
Then a bit of his eyes turn dark, the hunter has arrived. There is a small growl coming from Alexander. He starts to back me up off the bridge near the opening of the trees. “I don’t see you running, mama bear.”
Legs don’t fail me now.
