Maybe we were being naïve, but I wanted to live in this dream world where anything was possible for a little while longer.
He set the omelet on a plate in front of me and handed me a fork.
“It smells great.” I took a bite, suddenly ravenous.
He cooked a second omelet while I ate. When his was done, he ate it in record time, then put the plates in the sink.
I barely blinked before I was in his arms, and he was moving us upstairs.
I looked at him from under my lashes.
Mischief danced in his eyes. “I wasn’t done with you.”
I loved him like this, carefree and fun. I wondered if this was the guy he’d been before Tiffany got pregnant, and his entire world changed.
Was I a reminder of another life, one without responsibilities and worries?
He gently laid me down on my bed, settling between my legs. Pushing my shirt up, he bared my pussy and asked, “Now, where were we?”
He flattened his tongue over my clit, and I couldn’t answer. I was incapable of any thoughts. I could only feel his mouth on my clit, his fingers slowly pumping inside me, building me up again. I crested slowly this time, my back arching off the bed, and my fingers twisting in his hair as I went over.
Before I came down, Ryan grabbed a condom, and was inside me, my walls clamping around him.
This time, his body lowered over mine, and I felt his delicious weight pressing me into the mattress. He moved slowly as if we had all the time in the world. As is if there were no outside forces preventing us from being together.
I gave in to the sensations, the pleasure that only he could give me. Each time he moved, his pelvis ground over my clit. I didn’t think I was capable of another earth-shattering orgasm, but my body proved me wrong.
This time, we came together. It was the most beautiful thing I’d ever experienced. I felt so in tune with him.
He kissed me softly before lifting himself off me and going to the bathroom.
Unable to move, I drifted off, waking to a warm washcloth between my legs.
My cheeks heated. The act was so intimate and caring. I knew I was falling for him.
He threw the washcloth in the corner of the room and gathered me against his chest. He kissed my hair, seemingly breathing me in.
Instead of feeling sleepy, I was more awake now. Turning, I was wrapped up in him, his arms a protective wall around me.
We talked about the happy memories from our shared childhood. The ridiculous things he and Jake did. How they’d offer to play hide-and-seek so that I’d leave them alone for a few minutes, and they could play video games in peace. I smacked his shoulder playfully at that admission.
We also talked about the pranks they pulled; the biggest one was bringing hay into the school’s hallways for their senior prank and leaving pigs in a makeshift pen out front. It was supposed to be good-natured fun but backfired because of the kids’ allergies to hay.
“Yeah, we didn’t think that one through.”
I knew about it at the time, but hearing Ryan retell it had me laughing until I had a cramp in my side.
We didn’t talk about what Jake would think of us, my mom coming and going, or his parents. Those were the things that stood between us when we let them in. There was an unspoken agreement that tonight was just about us.
We finally fell silent in the early morning hours. I drifted off to sleep, content to be in his arms.
I knew tomorrow our issues would be front and center.
