“Do you want to come in?” she asked, unlocking the door.

Yes.

He did want to go inside.

But if he went inside, he wasn’t going to want to leave.

“It’s a school night,” he reminded her, taking her hand.

She turned into his body and tilted her chin up.

His gaze went from her eyes to her lips and held. He licked his lips and watched her pupils dilate.

He curved one hand around her hip and dipped his head. His lips brushed against hers and he closed his eyes.

Her hands came to his shoulder, then the back of his head.

She parted her lips and he swept his tongue inside. She tasted like the mint she’d eaten in the car. Her mouth was hot and slick, and he slid a hand into her hair and palmed the back of her head, cradling it as he took the kiss deeper.

A little whimper spilled from her into his mouth and he greeted it with a groan.

Holy hell.

Had lips ever felt like this?

Tasted like this?

He backed her against the door and she pressed her entire body against him.

All he could think about was needing to get closer to her, needing to get rid of the barriers between them. He needed to touch her everywhere. Kiss her everywhere. Taste her everywhere.

He.

Needed.

Her.

He moved his mouth over her jaw and down her neck. His hands went from her hip, up her ribs, to just below her breasts. He brushed his thumb over the peak of one of them, and she moaned into his mouth.

And then the door opened.

He caught her before she fell into the apartment, holding her close to his body.

“Really, people?” Kara said, sounding irritated. “Some of us have to work in the morning.” She turned around and sauntered back into the loft.

“Sorry, Kara,” Sabine called.

“Yeah, sorry, Kara,” he said too.

He grinned at Sabine still in his arms. “You make me a little crazy.”

She looked completely unrepentant.

He pressed another hard kiss to her mouth and then let her go.

“I’ll see you tomorrow?” he asked.

She nodded.
