Jade threw her head back with a laugh. “Are you serious?”
“Of course I am!”
“We planned Beach Day, Christmas in July, and stopped a bank heist. Now you want to plan another event?”
He nodded. “I’m retired. I need to fill my time somehow.” He chuckled when she pulled a face. “Don’t tell me you’re all planned out.”
“Not a chance. I love it. I just didn’t think you would keep helping after we …” She motioned to her neck where he had mated her. “You’ve got me. You don’t have to keep on helping me. You can do your own thing. Fishing with the guys and all that.”
He took her in his arms. “But I like planning things with you. I like spending all that time with you. I will never be too busy to plan things with you. Events for Half Moon Key, dates. You’re it, Rosebud, my mate. My love. I will always want to invest time in the things that matter to you. That matter to us.”
“I love it when you get all profound about how much you love me,” Jade happily sighed. “You’re one hell of a romantic.”
Parker grinned at her. “Don’t spread it around too much. The guys will never let me forget it. Maybe Mason would because he gets it, but the other two?”
“Cohen will always be single, won’t he?” Jade commented, her sympathy for the sheriff heavy.
“Yeah. And Jack still has no clue that Nora is so into him. He would probably need a shining neon sign to notice it.”
Jade shook her head. “I still don’t know how a shifter can be so oblivious about it. It’s not like Nora is all that subtle. She’s a clumsy mess around him. If only we could help them a bit.”
“Oh, I see where this is going.” Parker laughed softly.
“Well, hear me out. Lila and I were talking, and we agreed. In fact, she’s gonna be having the very same conversation with Mason.”
“Yes?”
“You fish with Jack all the time. You could totally see how he feels about her, maybe even guide him in that direction.”
Parker chuckled. “I thought you would say that. Why do you want to match everyone in town now?”
“I’m just so happy with you. I wanna spread the happiness. Besides, I have an idea. I think for our next event, we should find a way to get Jack and Nora together.”
“Oh? And just how are we gonna do that?” he asked, amused.
“I have a plan.”
He kissed her softly. “I have several. Which one do you want to do first?”
“That depends. What did you have in mind?”
He looked right into her eyes before pretending to think about his response. “I want happily ever after with you, Jade Curran. How about we plan one hell of a party for our wedding next summer?”
She gasped softly. “Did you just ask me to marry you?”
“Well, that depends. Are you gonna say yes?”
Jade jumped into his arms. “Yes, of course, I am saying yes!”
They danced together on the beach under the moon and fireworks. When the power went out in Half Moon Key, they didn’t even notice.
The End …
