“Faster,” she pleaded.

“Yeah? Hands and knees, Rosebud.” He pulled out of her, and she barely had time to pout her displeasure at him. He was helping her settle in her new position. She looked back at him over her shoulder and saw his face light up with ecstasy when he slammed into her again.

He went hard and fast, reaching between her folds to flick her bundle of nerves. The first touch made her cry out, the second made her see stars, and on the third, she came apart. She clenched down on his girth, squeezing him as hard as she could through her release. She wanted to feel him, deep inside her, losing himself to their future. To their love.

Parker continued to pump inside her until he was pouring his release deep inside of her. His teeth grazed her neck, and as his climax continued to rock them, his fangs sank into her, and Jade came apart again, racing to beautiful completion with the man who completed her.

They stayed intertwined as their breathing slowed, but Jade’s heart was still beating hard when Parker took her into his arms, laying them on the pillows.

“You’re mine, Rosebud.”

“I sure am, Parker. And you’re mine.”

“We’re gonna be one hell of a team for Half Moon Key.”

She giggled. “The town can wait. I want you all to myself a little longer. When can we go again?” She grinned, wiggling her brows suggestively.

“Are you for real right now?” he asked, laughing. She nodded, and he continued to chuckle. “Gimme a snack, and I’m good to go.”

Jade went to the kitchen to grab a few granola bars and rushed back to their bed.

“Before meeting you, Parker, I didn’t think this town could get any better. You proved me wrong. It was missing you. I love you, Parker.”

“I love you, too, Rosebud. I always will. You are my home now.” He kissed her sweetly, and together, they loved the night away.

EPILOGUE

PARKER

The Christmas in July celebrations were well underway. Parker still didn’t completely understand the purpose of the day, but every single person in town was lined up on Main Street to watch the parade. The storefronts were decorated like it was December, and Christmas was only days away. The only noticeable thing absent was snow.

“You two really are an amazing team,” Mrs. Francis said. “I like this pairing.”

Jade beamed at the oldest elder. “Thanks, Mrs. Francis. He makes working with him easy.”

“I bet he does. And now that the bank is secured, you’re officially an employee of Half Moon Key. That means you are well and truly one of us.”

“Are you about to start chanting?” Parker joked.

Mrs. Francis pointed a gnarled finger at him. “Don’t tease an old woman, you.”

“Sorry, Mrs. Francis,” he chuckled, throwing his hands up in defeat. “May I get you something to drink? Some carrots, perhaps?”

“Oh, no. Alana is waiting for me.” She pointed toward the other woman. Alana stood by one of the little booths, waiting for a couple of hot chocolates. Cohen was making his way over to her, and Parker nudged Jade so she could witness the exchange. They weren’t the only ones who were watching the fighting pair.

Mrs. Francis’s eyes were glued on them. “Excuse me, you two lovebirds.”

With the agility of a woman half her age, Mrs. Francis made her way to the booth to join Alana and the sheriff.

“What do you think that’s all about?” Jade asked.

“I don’t know, but it looks like Mrs. Francis is gonna teach those two some manners. While they’re busy doing that, would you join me for a midnight stroll along the lake?” He held out his arm for her to take.

“I would love that,” Jade slipped her arm in his, and they slowly made their way to the beach.

It was fairly empty. Most people lined up on Main Street to have some snacks while they waited for the fireworks to start. This time, the fireworks crew was settled at the edge of town, right under the moon. It was going to be one hell of a show, one they would still be able to see from the sandy shores.

Parker held Jade’s hand on the moonlit beach. “This was another really great planned day of activities in Half Moon Key. We are a really good team. What’s the next event we’re planning?”
