Parker groaned out his encouragement, and once her orgasm wrung her out again, he let go, pouring his own climax deep inside her. He continued to move his hips through the afterglow, softening inside her.

Parker took her in his arms when he lay beside her after cleaning up their mess, running his hands up and down her back. “That was amazing,” he panted, his breathing still not returned to its normal pace.

“It really was,” she agreed.

“Spend the night,” he asked softly against her mouth before kissing her sweetly. “Stay here with me.”

She didn’t know if he was asking her to stay for the night or for forever, but Jade didn’t mind either way. She would have loved to remain in his big, strong arms as long as he let her. “I’ll stay,” she whispered.

She heard him smile.

“Good,” he said. “That’s amazing, Rosebud.”

They dozed off for a bit before, somehow, finding themselves going for round two in his bedroom. When they fell asleep after that repeat performance, Jade knew she wasn’t going anywhere.

She spent the night in Parker’s bed, right where she wanted to be.

FOURTEEN

PARKER

Parker was positive he had never been this happy before. Ever. More than that, the happiness bar was a hell of a lot higher now that he knew what it was like to spend a night with Jade.

It wasn’t even this first night she stayed over. In fact, she has spent more time at his place than at her own in the last few days. Parker would never get sick of waking up next to Jade. It guaranteed that he would have a good day that usually started with a kiss from the woman who had completely captured him.

She was still asleep, her beautiful face right by his on his pillow. The sun was streaming in from the open curtains, and soon, the warm glow was going to wake her up. He didn’t budge an inch. He just lay there, watching Jade sleep.

It startled him a bit when her eyes flew open. She sat up and looked at the alarm clock on his bedside table.

“Fuck! I need to go!” Jade shouted in a panic, hopping off the bed.

She wrapped her body in his bed sheet, hiding all of the good bits of her. Not that there were bad parts to Jade Curran. She was just lovely, and it didn’t matter if she was wearing a pair of jeans, a dress, a bikini … or his bed sheet. She was always the most beautiful woman he had ever laid eyes on.

“What? What do you mean you need to go?”

“It’s Sunday!” She started slipping her skirt back on but realized too late she was putting it on backward. She grunted, slid it off, and put it back on with so much force that he was scared she would rip the material.

“I am so late,” she cried, running around. She passed beside the mirror over the dresser and let out a little terrified scream. “Oh! No! I look like I had sex.”

“Youdidhave sex,” he pointed out with a chuckle. “A whole lot of it too.”

“That’s not helping. I am never late. If I am not at my parents in the next two minutes, the sheriff will be out looking for me as if I were poor old Mrs. Ford, wandering around town.”

He sat up in bed. “No way your parents would call the sheriff if you’re late. You’re a grown woman.”

“Yes, way!” she argued, scrambling around the bedroom to gather her clothing. “It might already be too late.”

“What do you need me to do?” he asked, leaping from the bed.

“I don’t know. Nothing. I just need to get home, shower, change, and …” She stopped and sat on the edge of the bed, defeated. “I’m not gonna make it am I?”

He rubbed her back softly. “Not unless you call them right now and let them know that you’re gonna be a bit late, no.”

With a sigh, she grabbed her phone from her purse. He watched carefully as she dialed her parents’ number. With his shifter ears, he was able to hear both sides of the call.

“Mom, it’s me.”

“Jade, you’re late. Is everything okay?”
