“Are you cold, Rosebud?” Zak asked. “Your palm is cold.”
“I’m fine,” I said, extracting my hands from both Axel and Zak. “I need my hands back for circulation purposes.”
I didn’t want them to sense my anxiety and dread through my cold hands.
Héctor nodded in approval, loving that I had the desire and a strong enough will to break away from the two demigods.
“Here’s a tablet that shows your classes,” Esme said in a hurry, likely afraid of the demigods and me continuing our side show in her office. In her hand was a thin piece of metal and glass that looked a lot like a phone. “Carry it with you at all times. It’ll remind you of the time and place of each class. Also, when we have need of you, we’ll message you through the tablet.”
I grimaced. That meant I had almost zero freedom while I held that thing in my hands. No way was I going to check their messages and do their bidding.
“I have no need for fancy stuff,” I said. “You can just print out a piece of paper that shows my schedule. I’m more old school in that way.”
“Take a look at the classes first,” Esme said, and the tablet floated toward me.
Whoa! She had telekinetic power, able to move things by a thought.
What house did she come from?
“The house of Athena,” she said with a faint smile, as if reading my thoughts. I didn’t think she was telepathic though. I’d been staring at her hard to study her.
Athena was the Goddess of War and Wisdom.
I dropped my gaze and browsed through the list:
