Did he like that? He seemed to, but I can't help wondering if he was being polite.

Sure, because men are so often polite while they're screwing women so hard the entire building shakes.

Not that my apartment building shook. The bed did, for sure.

I fiddle with the napkin beside my plate, staring down at it with more concentration than is strictly necessary. I'm sitting on a stool chair at the bar that separates the living room from the kitchen. Nick had put out place settings while I was in the bathroom. This apartment is gorgeous and so big he could host an entire football team in here and have room leftover.

While I pick up a fork and fiddle with it, I ask, "Did you like it when I was being bossy? During sex, I mean."

He grins at me over his shoulder. "I always love it when you're bossy, whether we're in your office or naked in bed."

"It's okay if you don't like it."

"Do I need to say it again? All right." He leans toward the bar, his gaze nailed to mine. "I love it when you order me to do your bidding. It makes me randy."

"Tell me about your day spa. I read your business plan, but I'd like to hear everything that's not in the official documentation."

"You read my business plan? All of it?"

"Mm-hm. I was impressed, Nick. You're more than a pretty face."

He stands there frozen with a spatula in his hand for several seconds. "You honestly thought my business plan was good?"

"No, I thought it was excellent. A-plus material."

"Thank you, Siobhan." He turns halfway toward the stove, hiding his face while he pokes at whatever he's cooking. "Rick told me it was good, but then, he's my brother. And he's polite. He wouldn't tell me it's rubbish even if it was."

"You think your brother is a liar."

"No, he hates lying. But telling your twin brother his business plan is bollocks would be insensitive."

"Wait. You two are twins?"

"Yes. Richard is the level-headed one, and I'm the bad boy."

They must look the same. Probably sound the same too. I've never met twins before. Though I've only met one of them, I kind of feel like I've met Richard too since they share the same face. Or do they? "So you and your brother are twins. Does that mean you're identical?"

"Yes, we are." He pushes stuff around in the skillet, his attention focused on the task. "Though Rick probably wishes we weren't identical, at least lately. He's been accosted on the street by women who want him to give them a 'special' massage. Maddie, his fiancée, has been very tolerant. But it's my fault he's being harassed."

"No, it's that horrible woman's fault."

He shrugs. "Doesn't matter. I'm ruined, and my downfall is dragging Rick through the mud too, not to mention my parents."

I hadn't realized how bad things had gotten for him. No wonder he fled to America.

"How's the food coming?" I ask. "It smells wonderful. My mouth is watering, and my tummy is starting to grumble."

Nick glances at me over his shoulder. "Are you sure that's hunger for food you're feeling? Maybe I need to shag you again right there on the bar."

"I would love that, but right now, I need food."

He grabs two plates and faces the stove. I hear him scooping food onto the plates, though I can't see what he's doing.

Nick spins around and sets a plate down in front of me with a flourishing gesture. "There you are, my lady. Partake of your feast."

"Thank you, my lord. I shall reward you later for your labors."

Why are we both talking like ye olden days? I don't know, but it's oddly hot.
