The threat of an orgasm grows in the back of my mind. Apollo keeps hold of my hips, rubbing me up and down his thigh until I’m pretty sure I’m soaking through my leggings too. Maybe I’ll leave a splotch on his pants, and that will teach him not to tease me in public. A shiver races down my body, and I lock my gaze with Donatello.

He isn’t frozen to the spot like I expected. Lips half-parted, eyes glinting with lust, I watch his fist close around his erection through his pants. The sight of him touching himself as he watches me is almost too much. I shiver again, pressing my thighs against Apollo’s.

“Fuck,” I hiss, picking up my pace, stroking my pussy against Apollo’s thigh.

“What is it, mate? Are you about to come all over your panties?” Apollo teases with a smirk, but his pupils are blown wide, that rumble of lust reverberating through his chest.

I nod, throwing my head back as he pins me against his body. “Yeah,” my voice trembles out, and I keep moving, keep seeking that orgasm even if we’re in public, and Donatello’s watching, but he’s also touching himself... The thoughts hurricane around my head as desire coils inside me, about to snap.

A hand digs in my hair, tugging too hard, moving my head, and exposing my neck with too much strength. I wince, pulled out of my lust haze, and search for whoever did this, expecting Donatello.

It’s not Donatello gaping at me with hunger on his face, though. The strange man opens a smirk, and I catch sharp points to his canines. He licks his lips. “Such a willing slut. Let me see how you taste, pretty whore.”

CHAPTER12

DONATELLO

My vision goes red. The blue and purple neon lights glittering up above disappear. They are supplanted by the color of blood. Rage pumps through my veins, reaching my heart, and I taste blood. My sight pinpoints to the soon-to-be-dead bastard who jerked Cassandra’s head back. He thinks he’s about to take a bite out of her.

Only in his dreams. And I hope he enjoyed his existence because it’s about to end.

I close the space between us in one stride, and then I’m standing next to him and Cassandra. He halts, raises his eyes to me, arching an eyebrow in doubt. I bare my teeth, my canines elongating. He opens his mouth to say something, but I don’t care to hear it.

My arm moves, and I close my hand around his forehead, fingertips touching his temples. Rage pumps all my strength free, and I close my fist. Even with the loud music, I hear the satisfying crack of his skull. A smile slashes across my face. Bet he didn’t expect that.

Cassandra breathes in a gasp, stepping away. I watch blood ooze from his ears and his hands close around my wrists, nails digging in. Rage heightens my strength, and I keep pressing until his head loses its round shape, becoming full of jagged, pointy angles. His arms grow limp. There’s only one way to kill a vampire, after all. I squeeze until his brains slip through my fingers, then I let him go, and the body topples to the ground.

“Don’t touch her,” I hiss, even if he can’t hear me now. Should have said that earlier.Merda, now it lost its impact.

The people dancing around us step away. Slowly, they notice what just happened. I flicker my gaze to Cassandra, wide eyes, pale face.Merda. I was too vicious, wasn’t I? She’ll be scared of me, and the stinky shifter will be ready when she runs into his arms.

I let my possessiveness get the best of me, and this might ruin us.

“What the fuck?” the shifter breathes out, eyes as wide as Cassandra’s. “The fuck did you do?” He glares at me. “You know I’m SSD, right?”

I shrug. “You know the New Council avoids Hiram. Besides, you know I’m in the right. I was defending her. If you weren’t so busy humping her, you could have protected her from this.”

He looks away, and I know I hit the right spot. He’s blaming himself, as he should, and as should I. This is not the place to let go, to allow ourselves to soak in the sweet scent of Cassandra’s arousal. Here is not safe.

Cassandra still gawks at the body at our feet. She snaps her gaze at me. “You killed him.”

“Would you rather let him bite you?” I close a hand around her elbow, the exposed one, and delight in the warmth of her trickling into me. My heart pumps as I guide her into the crowd, aiming at the exit.

“No,” she answers without waiting a beat. “No, definitely not.” She looks over her shoulder at the people behind us. “We’re in trouble now, aren’t we?”

I smile her way. “We were in trouble before, anyway.”

Cassandra smiles back at me, a knowing smile that tells me she doesn’t mind I just murdered someone in front of her. There’s complicity in that smile, and I adore that she’s directing it at me.

The shifter reaches our side, just to ruin my moment.

“I can’t believe how deep this shit is going to get,” he mutters to himself, but I can hear him just fine. I open my mouth to tell him to grow a pair, but a scream cuts the music.

Oops. Exposed so early.

I pick up my pace, almost dragging Cassandra as the shifter starts on a long list of curse words. The exit rises on the horizon. A guard appears before it, hands cradling a gun, pointed at us. I jerk Cassandra behind me, but we keep moving.

“Stop!” He bares his teeth, brows lowering over his nose. “I fucking knew this was trouble.”
