I crack a smile at that.
“Okay, fine. If you won’t hang out with me this weekend, let’s go do something crazy right now. I’m itching to do something stupid.”
“Like what?” I ask, getting excited. Stupid shit is my middle name.
“Hm,” Luke says thoughtfully and then says. “I have that thing in the back of my truck…The one we were working on last weekend….”
“Fuck yeah,” I respond, my mind already conjuring up ways to make this epic. “Helmets?”
“Nah.”
“Perfect.”
CHAPTERFOUR
“Jesus, Sem! What happened to your face?” I ask when I see him sitting on my couch, shuffling through a book that I’d discarded on my end table. Apparently, I’m no longer shocked to see him inside my apartment uninvited. Iamsurprised to see the long, rough gash across his cheek, though. It looks like road rash? Does he have a motorcycle? Knowing him, if he did, he wouldn’t wear a helmet.
Dangerous, reckless man.
It’s been four days since I’ve last seen him. Not that I’ve been counting. That would be ridiculous. I don’t care when I see Sem. He could disappear, and I’d never even notice.
“Nothing happened.”
I glower at him and move to stand before him, grabbing onto his chin and tilting his face up toward me. A light stubble covers his jaw, and I resist the urge to brush my thumb across it.
“What did you do, Sem?”
Those blue eyes meet mine, and he shrugs. “Fell off a bike.”
“A bike? Doing what?”
“Going down a hill.”
“Do I even want to know?”
“Probably not.”
I drop my hand and sigh heavily. “Fine. Don’t tell me. What do you want? I’m assuming it’s something important since you broke into my apartment.Again.”
Sem shifts before me and runs a hand through his hair.
“Was just doing some more research….”
“And how do you do your research exactly? You don’t exactly look like you hang out in libraries.”
“Porn.”
I raise an eyebrow at him, surprised at his blunt answer. “And what was your research about?”
“A new position.”
My dick twitches in my shorts. Of course, it does. It’s been feeling a little neglected since I’ve been refusing to jerk off to thoughts of Sem. Absolutely refusing.
“Ah, and what position is this?”
“Easier if I show you.”
“Hm,” I hum, pretending to think about it. Ireallyshouldn’tbe considering this. Colin and I have been texting a bit throughout the week, and we have plans to meet up this weekend. It’s not exactly a date but I’m going to meet his son. That’s a big deal, and yet, for some unknown reason, I’m not ushering Sem out of my apartment.
