“Age is just a number. Ask Sugar about it.”
“Nope, not the same. Karma was sixteen when we started sneaking around. I was twenty-five.”
“Holy fuck. I hadn’t realized that because you’re both adults now.”
“Right? So what would you do if your daughter fell in love with a much older man?” I thought for a moment about how I’d feel. “Think about it, Birdie is almost one, right?”
Storm nodded.
“I was ten when Karma was one.” I scrubbed my hands down my face. “Christ, I’m a hypocrite because I’d never let my teenage daughter be with an older guy like her momma and me. No wonder her dad hated me.”
“Shit, I’m liable to capture the motherfucker and take him to our secret cabin. He’d never see the light of day again.” A murderous glint sparked in his eyes. “At least Birdie and Dante are only a couple of months apart. They’re the oldest in the club.”
That didn’t seem right to me. “What about Raul’s kids?”
Storm nearly broke his neck, twisting his head in my direction. “Ray? The boy is, I don’t know, eleven or twelve. Hell, he could be older. It never occurred to me to keep track.” Storm shook his head. “Nuh-uh, no fuckin’ way.”
“You might want to monitor him around your little girl.”
“And you do the same around yours. Nova and Ray are closer in age. By like four to six years. In fact, bring her around more often so they can get to know each other better.”
I shoved him. “Not funny, cuz.”
“See, you’re protective of her. You love her and you haven’t even met her. A father’s love is nothing to mess with when it comes to our kids.”
I hit my fist on my heart. “I’m feeling all kinds of shit right now.” I needed to change the subject. “How’s it going in Montana?”
“The big day is fast approaching. Track’s in deep, deeper than he should be with his step-sister.”
I raised a curious eyebrow. “How so?”
“You’ve seen Tina, right?”
“Yeah, she’s attractive.” I didn’t feel comfortable saying she was smokin’ hot. I was all in with Karma. I was faithful to her until the end, but I didn’t walk around with blinders on. Neither did she. I was positive she had noticed all the bikers in Storm’s club.
“Well, Brynne is twice as beautiful, according to Track. But don’t repeat what I said. He’s freaking out about it.”
“Why? It’s not like they grew up together, right?”
“Right.” Storm pushed off the truck. “But he’s been lying to her, getting closer to her. When she finds out her mom is alive and Track’s her step-brother, it’s gonna get ugly.”
“Damn, I think you’re right.” I opened the driver’s side door. “Thanks for the talk. I need to get over to Karma’s.”
“Good luck and congrats on becoming a father.”
“Thanks,” I grinned, starting the engine. “Let me know if you need any backup in Montana.”
“Will do.” Storm threw his hand up as he went inside the clubhouse.
Now to see my woman and meet my little girl. I was nervous. Who wouldn’t be? But I was sure everything would be okay because I loved them more than life itself.

Nova
I giggled and squealed, running across the playground away from Grayson. Every day he chased me. He said if he caught me, he would kiss me. He wasn’t a fast runner like me, so he never got a chance to touch me.
Kissing was gross.
