“I just have one question before I answer you.”
“What’s that, my lovely?”
“How do you feel about more children?” It probably wasn’t fair to ask him this, knowing I was already pregnant. If he said he didn’t want more kids, I’d be crushed.
“Whoa. I didn’t see that question coming.”
I winced at his reaction. “We should have everything in the open. No secrets.”
“Jay, when it comes to the MC, there will be secrets. Some things you need to be in the dark about. It’s just the way things are done around here.”
“I understand. But this is about our personal life.”
“I want a baby with you.” He kissed me. “I just—”
I pressed my finger to his lips. “Don’t say anything else. Just leave it at you want a baby with me. I know you’re scared. Don’t be. We’ll be okay, all four of us.”
He furrowed his brow as if trying to make sense of what I’d said. To help him out, I put my hand on my stomach.
“Jay, you’re pregnant?”
I nodded as I held my breath.
He put me on my back and pulled out of me. “Are you sure?” He kissed my stomach.
“I haven’t had a chance to get it confirmed, but my period is late, and I’ve been having morning sickness for over a week.”
A panty-melting smile played on his lips. “It happened the night dick turned our lives upside down, didn’t it?”
He seemed happy I was pregnant.
“I think so. You’re not angry?”
“Fuck no, baby. I’m happier than I’ve ever been.” He dropped a kiss on my lips. “If you’re up for it, I’d like to take you and Sadie to see my mom tomorrow.”
Christmas was a couple of weeks away. If the doctor was right, Miss Donna could pass any day.
“I’d love to see her and tell her how much I love her son.”
