The dickhead glowered and shrugged. My fist met his jaw. I heaved in a breath, fighting the urge to break his teeth. I wasn’t a monster.
“I want your prez’s name to set up a meeting.” I could be civilized and talk to the prez. Maybe make him an offer he couldn’t refuse so he’d take his crew and leave my territory. Or we’d just take them all out. It wasn’t the most rational line of thinking, but I was tired of these fuckers.
“He won’t see you, asshole,” he muttered, spitting blood onto the asphalt. I kicked him in the side and dug the toe of my boot into his dick. He wailed on the ground like a pussy, grabbing his junk with one hand.
“Let me at him,” Boxer growled. I had no problem turning the reins over to him. He was my enforcer, after all. I’d gotten out some pent-up aggression over not seeing Madeline and knowing these Hunters were scouting out women in her neighborhood. They better not so much as look atmywoman.
I heard the rumble of bikes and knew they were my brothers. Hero had called Wolf, Lynx, and AJ for backup, in case more Hunters showed up. We weren’t going to kill any of them, though I wanted to. This was about sending a message, about giving them a chance to get out of town—mostly unscathed—before we rained down hell upon each and every one of them.
These assholes were lucky I was in charge, because Boxer was itching for restitution for his sister’s boutique. He was out for blood. If these motherfuckers didn’t get gone, he’d get it.
“Okay, boys. Let the fun begin.” I lifted my boot off the douchebag’s dick, stepping back as Boxer took out his switchblade. He liked to leave his mark after an ass-beating.
Lynx stepped beside me. “Just two, eh?”
“Yeah. Neither one is talking.” I kicked the moaning prick’s leg.
“Looks like we’ll get to have some fun beating the shit out of them.” Lynx rubbed his hands together, a deranged expression on his face. He liked to strike fear into worthless pieces of shit, like the Hunter on the ground.
“We’ll do more than have fun.” Boxer glared at the cunt on the ground, with a menacing glint in his eyes. “That boutique you motherfuckers torched…” He seethed, “that was personal.”
“It wasn’t us,” the dude cried as Boxer dropped a knee on his chest, digging it in.
“Don’t fucking lie to me!” He pointed his blade at the Hunter’s neck. Boxer’s victims all received what he called“a hickey from Ricky.”It was a large R carved into the skin. Big enough, it couldn’t be missed. Ricky was what he called his switchblade.
Boxer had some issues.
The other guy struggled to get free from Hero’s grasp, but it was futile. Hero’s hands were like giant claws. If one got you, you were doomed.
I approached Hero, thinking I might be able to get this guy to talk. “The fire was Dirty Hunters, wasn’t it?”
His eyes widened. Good.
“No need to answer. I can see the truth in your eyes. How many of you are there?” I rested my hands on my hips, clenching my jaw. I needed to calm the fuck down before I lost my shit on this guy.
“I… I don’t… know.” Sweat dripped down his temple. Sheer terror shined in his light blue eyes.
“Don’t believe you, asshole. What is it, a dozen? Twenty? Fifty?” We hadn’t been able to get a definitive count of them, only catching a glimpse of no more than four together at one time. Without knowing where they were hiding, we had no clue what we were dealing with. We were in the dark. I fuckin’ hated it. We needed to know how big of a threat they were.
“Not bigger than thir… thirty,” the kid stuttered.
“Shut the fuck up,” the douchebag yelled from under Boxer. Wrong move on his part.
Boxer’s knee moved from his chest up to this throat. “Shut up, dickwad.”
I turned back to the prospect I was questioning. “You see your friend?” I jerked my chin toward his buddy, squirming under Boxer’s knee. His face was red, eyes bulging with fear. “That’ll be you next. So tell me, how many are there?”
“I swear. I don’t know exactly. I don’t even know who the prez is. He stays hidden.”
I snorted. “Sounds like a scared pussy.”
The prospect shook his head. “He’s a mean motherfucker. He wants Winters. Then Bastion.”
“Never fuckin’ happening!” I punched him in the gut, making him cough and gag. “Where does he run his prostitution ring?”
“Everywhere.”
“That’s a vague-ass answer.” I got in his face. “What about sex trafficking? Are you fuckers holding any women?”
