He slid in inexorably and Theo arched under the harsh yet erotic impact of his penetration. “Sebastian,” she gasped, her fingers digging into the muscles of his shoulders. “That was not easy!”
Her sex ached and burned despite her wetness. He brushed a kiss across her mouth, murmuring soothing nonsense, then he was kissing her again, fanning the flames once more. He moved, and she moaned at the tight feeling of his hardness dragging against her softness. Despite the ache…it was also glorious. Breaking her mouth from his, she told him so.
“I want you…feel as if I cannot get enough of you.” Sebastian’s harsh whisper filled her ear as he drove inside her, burying himself in her aching sex with a fierce hunger.
Theo moaned against his mouth. “I want you too…so much!”
Every deep stroke of his cock as he buried himself in the depths of her body was another shock of ecstasy that made Theo crave more. A sobbing moan was wrenched from her throat as the pressure became too much…and then unexpectedly, she broke apart. Her entire body convulsed, clamping tightly onto his still-thrusting cock. He hugged her closer to him, his thrusts speeding as his own climax followed swift and fierce.
He eased back from her and their eyes met. Sebastian pushed a sweat dampened tendril from her forehead. Theo laughed, utterly enthralled with the warm afterglow pulsating in her body.
“The night is getting colder,” he murmured, pressing a fleeting kiss to her mouth. “We should return in.”
Giddy delight washed through her. “No…you’ll keep me warm.”
The look in his eyes as he searched her face was hard for her to decipher. But it did not feel cold or distant. It felt warm…sensual. Sebastian eased from her, and she contained her gasp at the ache. He fished around his pocket and retrieved a handkerchief which he used to tenderly clean her.
“I was reckless,” he said, his touch lingering on her belly. “I might have got you with child just now.”
The surge of longing that went through her shocked Theo. She should have been frightened.
He touched her face lightly. “I’ll be more careful next time.”
It was the promise of an affair, nothing more. At her silence, a subtle tension invaded his body. “Do you want there to be a next time?”
“If I say no.”
His fingers curled into the grass, but what she saw of his face remained carefully composed. “I’ll honor your decision.”
“There’ll be many more,” Theo whispered.
And then his mouth was on hers, and Sebastian was kissing her desperately as his arms came around her. Suddenly, it seemed absurd, unimaginable that she could continue existing in a life where he was not a part of it.Love me, she silently cried to him, hugging him to her body, and kissing him back with feverish passion.Love me…for I am falling hopelessly in love with you.
Chapter Sixteen
Sebastian gently eased Theodosia’s head from his shoulders, shifted, and peered down at her. Her mass of hair had been loosed from the chignon and spilled over her naked body like a shower of silken curtains. He admired the erotically flared curves of her hips, and the rounded globes of her buttocks. He was tempted to lower himself and bite that firm flesh.
“Control your urges,” he muttered. Sebastian had already taken her outside with the stars looking down at them. The next time would not be outdoors. She deserved a bed, slow kisses, and a long night of loving instead of the way he had ravished her. The memory of her passion and how they burned together almost pulled a groan from him. He stood and redressed as efficiently as possible. He would return for her clothes and shoes. Very slowly, he bundled her into his coat and gently lifted her into his arms.
She murmured sleepily.
He pressed his mouth to her temple. “Shh, I’ve got you. I am taking you inside.”
Theodosia remained sleeping but a sweet, sensual smile curved her lips, and she snuggled deeper into his arms. Dawn would soon arrive, and he needed to get her into the house before any discovery. Though unlikely with his skeleton staff, Seb still needed to proceed with caution.
Holding her close, he made his way through the gardens and into the house. It was late and the staff were thankfully abed. He took her up the stairs and into her assigned chamber, placing her on the center of the bed. Drawing the blanket to her chin he tucked her in.
“I am not wholly conversant on how to conduct an affair,” she murmured, sitting up in the bed.
In the act of turning away to leave, Sebastian stilled, then faced her.
The dim light provided by the low burning fire in the hearth revealed only a faint impression of her expression. An affair. Was that what they were about? Or did she want more…something more honourable and long lasting. Did he want more? Where did he really envision her in his life? A mistress? A friend and occasional lover? Discontent filled him at that notion. What then? A wife?
Hell. His heart jerked a harsh beat. “Are you asking my intentions, Theodosia?”
Her lush mouth curved into a smile. “I am asking if I am to sleep alone.”
He padded over to her, and she swung her leg over the edge of the bed and sat up. Sebastian leaned down and kissed her. It couldn’t be helped. He kissed her with hunger, and then with aching gentleness. “I do not wish to define our relationship,” he said against her mouth. “For I do not fully understand what I feel for you.”
