“What happened to your last boyfriend?” he asked.
She sat back, licking her lips after giving him the best fucking head he’d ever received.
Charity looked up at him with those big brown eyes of hers. “You want to know about my last boyfriend?”
“Yeah.”
“That ended ages ago. Probably two years, maybe even longer.”
“There hasn’t been anyone since?” he asked.
“No.” She sat back on her heels, looking at him. “Has there been anyone for you?”
“Not for a long time.” He didn’t live like a monk. Ever since Ape had found his woman, though, he couldn’t seem to shake Charity from his mind.
It was why he drank so heavily and used the endless stream of women that had come and gone from his life. None of them had mattered. After each sexual encounter, he had felt disgusted with himself. Like he had betrayed Charity.
None of the guys knew. He partied like it was no big deal. But it was a big deal.
Charity had been on his mind for so damn long.
As he stared down at her, she tilted her head to the side and smiled.
“What?” he asked.
“It’s kind of surreal being here with you, you know, naked.”
“I like you naked.”
He took her hand and helped her to her feet, easing her back on the bed. Lying down beside her, he looked into her eyes, cupping her cheek.
“What’s it like?” she asked.
“What?”
“Being on the open road. Having no one to answer to.”
Bad chuckled. “Oh, I have people to answer to. Colonel. He’s our Prez. I answer to him, and of course any call that the original Satan’s Beasts MC has. I’m part of their Nomad Chapter. They’re a big club.”
She smiled, and for a second, he was struck by just how beautiful her smile was.
Damn. So pretty.
He always knew she was pretty. She haunted his dreams, but having her this close, she was stunning. Distance helped him to forget.
“Yeah, but think about all the people you’ve met. The places you’ve been.”
“It hasn’t always been fun.”
She rolled her eyes. “You are in such a bad mood today.” She giggled. “Don’t worry about it. I get it. You don’t want me to think about your life within the MC on the open road.”
“Are you looking forward to leaving?” he asked.
“I can’t wait. I don’t know what I’m going to find, but it has got to be better than coming here alone every night.” She sighed, snuggling up against him. “Do you think I’m weird?”
He frowned. “That’s an odd question.”
“Well, I trust your judgment. My last boyfriend didn’t exactly like going out, or partying, or doing anything fun. He liked sitting at home, watching television.” She wrinkled her nose. “He said it was weird for a woman to want to do stuff. That all women wanted to settle down, get pregnant, and trap men.” She started to glare. “He was a dick. I should know, he called me a slut.”
