Did he miss me?

Did he even think about me?

I thought of him every day, and for a while, I saw his face every everywhere I looked. Did he even look for me?

So many thoughts filled my head as I watched the sun set on the Golden Skulls compound as men went about their night from the window in his room. Healer put me in here. He said no one would bother me while I was in here. He also said that I was Reggie’s. Which made some of the men look at me funny. Though, I didn’t know why.

Was I really his?

I didn’t know anymore.

When he found out the truth, would he still want me?

I still couldn’t believe my good fortune that day back in Louisiana. A young man with the Golden Skulls patch found me and asked me to help him get Samuel to safety. I was so shocked to see the Golden Skull patch I instantly agreed.

While I was away, I tried to find any information on Reggie. For years, I found nothing, then one day I saw him while I was scouring the internet. He was a member of the Golden Skulls Motorcycle Club in California. I should have known he’d gone to California. We had planned on running away there the last night we were together. The night that changed both of our lives forever. So, when the young man asked me to help him, I said yes, on one condition.

That he took me to Reggie.

A knock at the door had me turning.

Saying nothing, I watched as the door slowly opened, and Healer appeared.

“Yes?”

“I thought I’d come up to check on you. I brought you dinner. It isn’t much. None of us know how to cook, so I hope sandwiches are okay,” he said, placing the tray of food on the bed.

“Thank you.”

Nodding, he looked curiously at me. After a few seconds, he cleared his throat and said, “I have your medical results. Would you like to hear them?”

“Where is Reggie.”

“I’ve had Sypher contact Reaper. He will let Player know you are here. I’m sure, when he finds out, he will move heaven and earth to get to you.”

I turned my head and stared out the window before I said, “I’m not so sure about that.”

“Catarina,” the kind man said. “I’ve known Player for a couple of years now. Trust me. He will come as soon as he knows you’re here.”

“But will he still want me?” I whispered as a lone tear fell down my cheek. “I’m not the same woman he knew before.”

“That won’t matter to him. If Player feels anything for you as you are feeling for him, that man will do anything to make everything right in your life.”

“I hope so.”

“You’ll be happy to know that you have no sexually transmitted diseases, and other than being a little dehydrated and underweight, you are healthy. However, I do need to ask you something personal. Medical purposes only.”

I knew it was coming. I took enough pre-med courses to understand what he saw when he gave me a complete physical. There was no way to hide it. I slowly turned my head as tears flew freely down my face and waited for him to ask the question I knew he had to ask.

“How long ago did you give birth?”

And there it was.

My secret.

My reason for breathing.

“Three years ago. A boy. I named him after his grandfather, Colin.”
