Her lips parted in surprise. Chris gave me a wink before he climbed aboard the yacht, and helped Leda over the threshold. I followed behind. Rocco and a few others would join us later. I couldn’t risk floating down the Hudson by myself without some security.
But the yacht was big enough that they would stay well out of the way.
TheVengeancewas one of those impulsive purchases, much like the helicopter. But what better way to flaunt your wealth than to buy big-ass toys? Like somebody told me a long time ago: money was like the wind, you only felt it when it was moving.
“So, this is the surprise you planned for me?” Leda asked as one of the attendants approached us with drinks on a tray.
“It is.” I snagged one of the whiskeys. “I thought you would want to get out for a little while.”
Though her lips were pursed into a line, I could see the sparkle of excitement in her eyes and knew that I did the right thing. This was the first step of proving to Leda that she wasn’t just an object of pleasure, that she was more than a prisoner.
That she was something I couldn’t possibly put a name to because I had no idea what that even was.
“Well,” Leda finally said, wrapping her arms around her waist. “I can’t wait then. Will you give me a tour?”
Of each and every bed on this fucking boat? Absolutely. I knocked back the whiskey and placed it back on the tray before holding out my hand. “Let’s get started.”
Leda placed her hand in mine, and I laced our fingers together, enjoying the way her hand felt in mine. Hell, I liked everything about her. She wasn’t frightened of me or what I had done in the bedroom, she pierced the walls I put up with just a couple of words.
I wanted to see what else she could do.
What else she was capable of.
The boat set off away from the dock as I took Leda on her tour, watching as she took it all in. She was a fucking Mafia princess, yet it was like she hadn’t seen something like this before. I held her hand as we walked from room to room, Leda laughing as she took in the massive bed in the master bedroom, surrounded by mirrors.
“My God,” she giggled. “Is this your fuck room? So you can see yourself from all angles?”
“Not just me,” I replied and pressed her against the bed. “You also get an unobstructed view.”
Leda looked up at me, her eyes sparkling, and I couldn’t help it. I kissed her.
This kiss wasn’t like any of the kisses we shared in the past. It wasn’t just hungry lust or want. This kiss was full of emotion, pent-up emotion that I was only willing to show her. She gasped against my lips as our tongues met and danced. Her hand snaked under my shirt, tracing lines as I explored the depth of her mouth.
We fell closer until we were half on the bed, still kissing as if the thought of breaking apart would leave us dying. When I finally pulled away, her lips still parted and she was panting.
“I’m sorry,” I said, surprised that those were the first words out of my mouth.
“For what?” Her voice was breathless and husky.
Hell, I didn’t know. I was sorry for a lot of things, some that I could control and a hell of a lot that I couldn’t.
“For not showing you this room sooner.”
She rolled her eyes and coyly pushed me away. I let her, only because she was making me feel like a different man, a new man.
“You are too much, Lucas Valentino. I can’t figure you out.”
I chuckled and pulled her back into my arms, surprising us both. I liked the way she made me feel whenever she was around.
“Come on. If we don’t leave soon, I’m going to fuck you on this bed. And there are so many others you haven’t seen yet.”
Leda brushed her hand over my cheek. “I will hold you to that, Lucas.”
Chapter 38
Lucas
We returned topside as the New York skyline came into view. Leda broke away from me and walked over to the railing to watch. I shoved my hands into my pockets and watched her, wondering what she was thinking.
