My baby is eager to please. She licks, sucks, teases, and mouthfucks me till I come down her throat.

“You gonna keep being good?”

She smirks at me then finishes her shower. By the time I get to wash off, the water is ice cold, but I don’t mind it. I’m back home with my woman. Back where I belong.

“I’m going to be late,” Freya gripes at me as we set out on the road.

“I think the alcoholics coming in at this hour will be alright for a spare five minutes.” I hate that she’s still working at that fucking bar. If I hadn’t been a dumbass we’d be married by now and maybe have a kid on the way.

That’s why I was doing the stupid shit to start with. Wanted to earn extra money to buy Freya a nice ring. Look where my greed got me. This time it’ll be different. I’ll do better. I should have known that Freya didn’t care about a big rock on her finger. All she wanted was me. I know that now. I’m thankful it’s not too late for us.

This time I’ll get it right and be the man she deserves.

Once I drop her off and I check in with my PO I’ll swing by the clubhouse and see what kind of work Crow has for me. Something straight. I know I’ve gotta toe the line and stay out of trouble. There’s no way in hell I’m going back to the penitentiary.

“The fuck?” I slow down as we pass Death storming through town. I roll down my window. “Yo, need a lift?”

The brother shoots me a dirty look but approaches the car. I don’t take it personally since I know he’s dealing with a lot of shit. Last night at the hospital Crow told me they don’t expect his boy to make it. It’s totally fucked. The injuries are far too great for him to make a recovery.

“Fuck no,” he growls.

“How’s Belinda and Bensen doing today?”

Death ignores Freya’s question and I decide not to poke the bear. Though I do wonder what he’s doing on a midday stroll through town.

“If you change your mind, I’ll be back through after dropping my woman off at work.”

“Right,” he clips. “I’m good.”

Freya stares straight ahead on the verge of crying as I drive off.

“Want to tell me what happened between you and Death?”

“Nothing to tell. He’s obviously having a bad day.”

I’m not stupid. There’s something she’s not sharing. “We need gas.” I pull in at the gas station.

Freya pulls her wallet from her bag and hands me her debit card.

“I’ll pay you back. I’m hitting the bank today to get a new card and shit.”

“It’s not a big deal.”

“Babe. Don’t want you thinking you gotta pay my way.”

“It’s gas for my car that I drive daily. Seriously.”

“You need anything?”

“Nope,” she pops the P then gives me the pin number.

I go in to pay for the gas but as I stand in line, I watch Freya in the car. She’s fidgeting with the radio and messing with her hair. I have this sour sensation in the bottom of my stomach. She’s not being truthful with me about Death. Is he who she was fucking?

That’s a conversation that will be had. That’s a fucking check she can cash.

“Here. Got you that candy you love. Them Nerds with the gummy clusters.”

She shoots me a smile that doesn’t quite reach her eyes.
