“Vik’tor…oh my God!” I moaned as he broke the kiss and started kissing my neck instead. His fangs skated over my vulnerable throat, but I didn’t shy away from him. I think I would have let him bite me—even though I had strenuously resisted letting any Naggian male get their fangs anywhere near my neck—if he had asked.

But then one sharp fang slid over the small bump where R’xs had implanted his tracker and I winced and shied away instinctively.

“Sorry, baby…” Vik’tor was nearly panting as he leaned over me. “Did…did I go too far?”

“No, I was…was enjoying it as much as you were,” I said honestly. I was a little short of breath myself and my heart was still racing with need and desire. “It’s just that spot is sensitive—it’s the place where the tracker is,” I added.

“Oh, yeah…” He ducked his head, examining the old scar and the small bump under it. He looked up at me, speculatively. “You want me to take that out for you, little girl?”

I frowned.

“How? Do you have some kind of surgical kit?”

“No, I don’t have a surgical kit—I just have these.” He motioned to his fangs, which were looking long and sharp again. I had the idea that they grew some when he got excited—either angry or horny, it didn’t seem to matter which.

I frowned.

“Look, Vik’tor, it’s not that I don’t trust you but…”

“But you’ve been really careful not to let a male bite your neck or your inner thigh, right?” he asked, raising his eyebrows.

“Well, yes,” I admitted. “But also, how safe would it be for you to, er, bite the tracker out of me? I mean, isn’t it kind of close to the carotid artery or the jugular vein or something?”

Don’t ask me about anatomy—I was getting my PhD in Sociology—not Biology. But I still had the idea that it would be dangerous to try and remove R’xs’ tracker. That was the main reason I hadn’t attempted it myself.

But Vik’tor was shaking his head.

“Yes, it’s in a delicate area,” he said. “But Naggian males have the ability to seal any wound they make with their fangs. So I can heal you immediately after I bite you. And I’m not going to fucking ‘bite it out’ either,” he added. “I’d just slit the skin to extract it—looks like it’s really close to the surface so it shouldn’t be a problem.”

Well, when he put it like that I felt a lot less frightened. Also, the idea of getting the damn tracker out of my neck wasextremelyappealing. I had been living in fear of R’xs for the past six months and now he was dead—I wanted to get rid of the last vestiges of him.

“All right,” I said, baring my throat for Vik’tor. “Do it—get it out of me.”

“You got it, baby,” he rumbled and leaned over me, stroking my hair to one side so he could get to my throat more easily.

Suddenly a scene flashed in my mind’s eye—hadn’t I seen this exact moment? Hadn’t I seen the two of us lying together on a white fur rug with Vik’tor bending over me, preparing to bite my neck?

“Wait—stop!” I put my hands on his broad chest and he stopped at once.

“What is it? Changed your mind?” he asked, frowning.

“No, I just…I’veseenthis before. I’ve seenusin this position,” I told him. “It was this crazy dream I had—or maybe not a dream. It was like a flash—an image in my mind. It happened when we first touched, skin-to-skin, and we got that weird, electrical jolt. Remember?”

“Remember? How could I fucking forget?” he growled. “Fucking nearly made me come in my pants, baby.” He raised his eyebrows. “And you had a vision when that happened?”

“I guess you could call it that.” I nodded. “And I had another when…when you were touching me and, er, sucking my nipples afterwards.” I could feel my cheeks heating with a blush. “I saw myself walking down a dark tunnel towards a green light and a voice warned me to stay away from the light because it wasn’t safe.”

“There was a green light in the room where I found you,” Vik’tor pointed out.

“Yes, I know!” I exclaimed. “Thatvision came true. And I guess, so did the other one,” I added, motioning to the way we were still lying on the rug together.

Vik’tor frowned, looking thoughtful.

“So you’ve had two different visions and both have come true and you had both of them while we were, er…”

“Fooling around? Making out?” I supplied.

Vik’tor grinned a little, showing me a flash of fang.
