So not only was mydad’s fiancée-to-be cheating on him, but she was cheating on him with my school guidance counselor—who wasn’t even who he said he was.

Was everyone outside of my immediate circle in the Society a liar?

“How do I tell my dad?” I finally got the words out once we got back to Gavin’s house. Luca and Vince met us there, and everyone had been relatively quiet.

“Maybe you don’t have to,” Noah said.

I looked at him. “What do you mean?”

“You could go to Juliet with proof and demand she tell him herself,” he offered.

“What proof?” I asked.

He held up his phone, and I saw a picture of Mr. Peters—or Haul, whatever his name was—kissing her.

“You took that?”

He nodded. “I didn’t realize you were sick at first. I was focused on getting as many pictures as possible.”

I jumped off the couch and launched myself on him. “Thank you!”

He hugged me and pulled me into his lap. “You’re welcome.”

“You don’t have to confront her, Ave. I think the best way to go about this is to send your dad all the evidence anonymously. You shouldn’t be further involved,” Luca said.

“I agree,” added Gavin. “We can send it, and let him figure it out.”

I nodded. “Okay.”

I didn’t want to see Juliet ever again, so I was fine with that idea. Avoiding Mr. Peters wouldn’t be too hard, hopefully. I wasn’t sure if I could control myself if I had to speak to him.

“Did you guys figure out what the other address was?” Sky asked Luca and Vince.

“We’re pretty sure it’s an AS cover. We checked out the four other companies in the building, and they’re legit. The fifth had barely any information on its website. I went up to the third floor, but there was only one locked office. It seemed pretty sketchy,” Vince said.

“That would make sense. It could be a meeting point or a place to do drop-offs and exchanges.” Gavin typed something on his phone. “When my parents get home, I’ll let them know what happened.”

“If they think it’s best that we send it to my dad anonymously, then let’s do it soon. I don’t want to draw this out longer than necessary.”

“Okay.” He gave me a sympathetic smile.

“We’ve got to figure out how Mr. Peters fits in this,” Luca said after a moment. “It’s not a coincidence that he works at our school.”

Noah’s jaw tightened. “I’ve been thinking that since we first saw him. I have a feeling Juliet’s more active in the AS than we thought. I think they’re both watching us.”

“I’ll do as much digging on him as I can, but we might need more than the internet can provide,” Gavin said.

“I’ll reach out to Corey, and see if he can use his ability to find anything.” I offered and Gavin agreed. Emery’s husband could manipulate technology and might be able to gain access to information we couldn’t.

“What else do you need?” Vince asked.

“If we could get the same app on his phone that we have on Juliet’s, that would be amazing.”

“We’ll do it on Monday,” Luca said. “One of us will have to break into his office.”

“Easy enough,” Sky replied.
