“S-sorry…”
“Shh, B. Rest. Let’s just rest.”
I closed my eyes, more tears slipping out. With each fallen tear, Vincent moved and wiped them away all the while murmuring he loved me and would protect me.
I knew I should have been honest with Dominic. I’d messed up, but his reaction was just too much. Never in a million years had I thought he’d put me on my knees and choke me.
I needed to sleep.
Thinking about it wasn’t going to fix a damn thing. The damage was done. We’d both fucked up tonight.
With the numbness completely settled in, I breathed out and slipped away into the darkness, hoping tomorrow was a better day.
But I really doubted it.
CHAPTER25
Fallon
“De Santis’s bitch had to be wasted,” Trent said as we sat in the dip house later that night getting high and even drunker.
“Heard they’ve been fighting a lot lately,” Drake said. “Sami Rogers told me she heard them a few days ago arguing in the hall and again in the commons.”
“Good. I hope she’s tearing their fucking world apart,” Hail grunted. His lip was swollen. Bianca had decked him good. In a way, I was proud of her. In another way, I was furious. She was insane to have walked right up to us the way she did. Had I not been there, I don’t know what would have happened. It wasn’t like I did a lot, aside from see Dom running full tilt at us. I knew what would happen if I didn’t push her toward him. Luckily, that worked out enough, so he didn’t start throwing hands.
“We had a chance to grab her, and Fallon tossed her back,” Tate said bitterly.
“We didn’t have fuck all of a chance,” I snapped at him. “De Santis and Seeley were right fucking there. Unless you could fucking up and disappear at the drop of a hat with a girl in your arms, I don’t think you’d have gotten far.”
He grunted and glared down at his beer.
“Fallon is right. She was fucked up and trying to start shit. She’s a stupid bitch. I’m glad she bailed on me. She’s been the perfect little storm we needed with the kings. They’re pussy whipped and willing to do anything for her, and she’s a spoiled little brat who likes to cause problems. It’s working out in our favor. Or it will. Maybe the next time the bitch snaps, we can get her then and De Santis won’t be around,” Hail said.
“There’s turmoil in their group. It’ll only be a matter of time,” Trent said. “So relax.”
“Exactly. And let’s fuck to forget about it. We don’t have half the problems the kings have.” Hail took a hit of his joint and passed it off to me and bellowed for Stella.
She came sashaying into the room. “Yes?”
“What did you get out of that fuck Valentino?”
“He was too wasted to give me much information. All I got was Dominic’s father is still angry and the horsemen want their asses to swing.”
Hail smirked and poured another drink. “That’s what I’m fucking talking about.”
“He also said they’re expanding their drug ring and Dominic has brought on more pushers.”
Hail rolled his eyes. “Weed is lame. Coke. Heroin. Even meth is where it’s at. Let him keep growing his devil’s lettuce. We’ll reap from the good stuff.”
“His weed is pretty choice,” Drake said. “I got some off a guy to try. Shit’s legit.”
Hail scoffed. “Whatever. It can’t compare to what I can offer. So fuck De Santis and the kings. And fuck their little bitch. If Stella can convince Valentino to eat her pussy, then you know shit isn’t good there.”
“Did he, Stella?” Tate cocked his head at her.
“Did he what?” she asked.
“Eat your pussy.”
