“Good, I-I owe those fuckers,” Vin said breathlessly. “If I live. I-I feel bad, man. Real bad.”

“You’re going to be OK,” Levin said with a grunt. He took Vin’s face between his hands and made him look at him. “Tell me. Fucking say it to me, Vincent.”

“I-I’m go-going to b-be O-OK,” he said, weakly.

Levin visibly swallowed. “Right. You come out of this, and I’ll give you anything you want.”

“Y-yeah? P-promise?”

“I promise.” Levin swept Vincent’s dark hair out of his eyes.

“M-maybe we c-could do that one thing w-with B a-again.”

Levin licked his lips. “Yeah. We can.”

Vincent breathed out, a smile on his lips. “OK. N-no t-takebacks, fucker.”

I had no idea what the hell they were talking about, but I could only imagine. I’d give the three of them a weekend away from this shit if it meant Vincent lived.

“I’ll foot the bill,” I said, pressing a fierce kiss to Bianca’s head.

CHAPTER3

Fallon

“Oh, Fallon,” Nattie cried as she launched herself at me when I walked in the door of the safe house.

“Shh. I’m fine. Everything’s going to be OK.” I grabbed her small bag from the floor by the door and shuffled us out of the way so Dom could carry Bianca upstairs.

Levin hauled Vincent carefully into the room where Doc Alan was already waiting.

Natalia trembled in my arms. I hated this life for my poor sister. I longed to get her away from it. But at the same time, Dominic’s safe house was a good spot for her because of its seclusion and no one knowing of its existence. Out there in the world, Nattie could become a target.

“You want me to fix you something to eat?” she asked around a yawn when it was just the two of us.

“I’m not hungry. It’s been a long night and will probably continue to be. Why don’t you go get some rest?” I suggested.

“Only if you promise to stay away from anything explosive for a while. Maybe stay away from everything dangerous. Please,” she pleaded.

Chuckling, I said, “I’ll do my best.” I knew the odds weren’t good that I’d avoid all danger, not in this life. But I could give my sister a little peace of mind.

She hugged me once more before excusing herself to the room she’d claimed in the house.

After showering and changing, I paced the living room, waiting for someone to tell us something. Doc was still in with Vincent, and Dom hadn’t come down.

Whatever drugs they'd given princess must have been strong because hours later she was still knocked out.

When I couldn’t take not knowing how she was anymore, I slipped up the stairs and peeked inside Dominic's room to check on her.

“Get the fuck out of here,” he growled at me when the floor squeaked under my feet. He carefully rose from where he'd been sitting next to her still form on the mattress and marched over to the bedroom door. “Stay downstairs. I’ll shoot you in the fucking face if you come back before I say so.” He shut the door and locked it.

With my head hanging down, I made my way back to the living room to bond with Levin since there wasn't anything else to do.

“It’s best to leave him alone,” Levin grumbled as he tilted a bottle of whiskey to his lips. “He’s overly possessive of her. Dude’s like a starved dog with a bone.”

“I noticed,” I muttered, sitting on the sofa across from Levin and taking a deep pull of my own bottle of booze.

Levin sparked up a joint and took a hit and held it before blowing the smoke out. His eyes locked on mine.
