I shook my head. All the horsemen were fucked in the head.

But I supposed that made them great allies for times like these.

“And I promise to enjoy the view,” was all I said before getting to my feet to find Dom and Levin.

CHAPTER49

Fallon

“De Santis is going to murder me. Hope you’re fucking happy,” Drake said, coming into the living room as I stepped out of Bianca’s room.

“What happened?”

“Cole called me. Do you know Cole? He’s fucking insane.” Drake pointed at his head for emphasis. “The horsemen are with the kings right now which means they’re ready to start killing people. Pretty sure we’re those people if we don’t produce Bianca.”

I nodded. “Yeah. Well, I want to talk to you about that.”

The guy who took care of Bianca came back into the room and leaned against the mantle on the fireplace and stared me down. He wasn’t much of a talker, that was for sure.

“Fallon, this is Liam. Liam, this is Fallon,” Drake grunted, flopping down onto the couch and dragging his fingers through his hair in frustration.

“Hey,” I said, giving him a nod. “I think I know you. You look familiar.”

The emotionless look on Liam’s face didn’t change, but he did push off the mantle and sit down in the chair next to the couch.

I stepped further into the room and took the other chair.

“How do you two know each other?” I pressed.

“Liam does some work for Nicolai Reznikov,” Drake muttered.

I blinked at him. Nicolai Reznikov was the Ivanovs’ biggest enemy, next to Matteo De Santis.

“How—” I started.

“I told you I wanted the Ivanovs gone. My father has always been in bed with the Ivanovs. My mother? She was a Reznikov. Nico’s sister.” Drake tugged his hair again.

I swallowed. “You’re Bratva through two families?” I asked, confused. I had no idea his mother was an heiress.

Drake nodded. “Pretty much. When my father killed my mother for fucking Sergio Ivanov, I knew I’d had enough. Sergio raped my mother then told my father she’d come onto him. My father killed her for it. I was young when it happened, but I saw the whole fucking thing. I watched my father stab her until her screams died away. So fuck the Ivanovs.”

“I’m sorry,” I said. “I had no idea.”

“Not many do,” Drake answered. “But I know my roots. My father is a piece of shit who needs to die. Just like Sergio. Just like your old man. All of them deserve death.”

I stared at him for a moment before I nodded. “I know they do.”

“Liam is my cousin through marriage,” Drake continued. “He married my cousin Asha, Nico’s daughter.”

The wheels in my head spun until I looked to Liam who simply stared back at me.

“Skin and bones,” I whispered, swallowing hard. Everyone in our world knew that fucking name. The name wasn’t given because he was a slim guy. In fact, he was built, his body a wall of muscle. The name was given to him because that was all people ever found of anyone he did a hit on. And it wasn’t always in one pile. Sometimes skin. Sometimes only bone. He had a nasty reputation.

He didn’t look the part of a cold-blooded killer though. He looked like a frat boy who threw footballs around to get girls to lift their skirts. I noted the gold wedding band on his finger. He wasn’t what I expected.

A tiny, sad smile curled Liam’s lips up. He tilted his head at me. “That’s what they call me.”

“Fucking hell,” I muttered. I was pretty much in the presence of a mob god. Dominic De Santis was the only other one I’d ever been face to face with. I imagined if the two of them were ever in the same room together, the world would implode.
