“Gunner, come out!” King calls, but there is no response. Fuck! Turning, I head towards the takeaway. I’m not going to wait out here.
“Fang!” King warns, but I am already making my way inside. The seats and counter are riddled with bullet holes.
“Gunner?” Frost calls from right behind me. I can scent him, but I can’t see him. Frost opens the door into the kitchen but there is no sign of Gunner in there either. I throw back my head and howl. Gunner is not inside the takeaway. There is no sign of his blood in here either. Changing back to my human form, I take a deep breath looking around, “there is no sign of him. Where the fuck did, he go?”
“When he phoned, he said he was here,” Frost mutters as he walks past me towards the back of the building.
“He’s not here,” I state as I walk outside to face the others, which has King grabbing one of the guys which we haven’t killed yet and lift him by the neck.
“Where is my man?” he roars.
“Don… don’t know.”
King shakes him hard, and the man’s eyes widen in fear. “You want to try again? And think carefully before answering because if I don’t like your answer, you won’t be breathing for long.”
The fucker grabs King’s arm, trying to break his hold, but there is nothing that will break King’s hold now except King himself.
“Th… they ju…”
“He can’t breathe. If you want him to talk, you need to let him breathe,” I call out in a bored tone from where I’m standing near the entrance of the takeaway. King’s eyes snap to mine, a scowl on his face. I know that this is messing with King’s head, not knowing where one of his pack is.
He opens his hand, letting the fucker drop to the ground, his desperate intakes of breath audible from where I’m standing. “Talk, I’m not asking again,” King orders
“Skull told us to come here and wait for you,” the guy says breathlessly. I tense at his words. “I swear!”
If Skull knew we were coming here, then Zurich must have told him the truth, or he found out and made Zurich arrange this meeting.
“Here,” Dash says as he walks up to me and hands me my jeans.
“Goliath, try Gunner’s phone again,” King calls out
“I just did, there is no reply,” Goliath updates just as King pulls out his own phone from the inside of his kutte looking at it.
“This better be…” he stops and listens to whoever is on the other side. I see King’s expression change to one of pure fury. “We’re on our way.”
Pulling out the gun from where it’s tucked into his jeans, he shoots the guy he was questioning right through the head. “Kill them,” he calls as he turns to make his way back to his Harley.
“They attacked the club.” His words have my heart feeling like it’s frozen. What does that mean? I see Hawk rushing towards his bike, an expression of absolute rage on his face.
“What happened?” Blue roars as he, too, rushes towards his Harley. Hawk, Dash, Hunter, and I are the only ones that have mates at home. If they attacked the club, that means that they might have hurt our mates. The shock of the situation quickly wears off as I run towards my bike. Quickly picking it up, I have it on the road and speeding towards the club.
I have only just found my mate; we haven’t even bonded. If they have hurt her in any way, I swear I will skin every single one of them alive. My heart is racing in my chest, my rage is explosive. I left her behind. I promised her that she would be safe.
“I promised!” I growl to myself; I will not forgive myself if anything happened to her because I didn’t take care to make sure that she was safe.
We make it back to the club in record time, Hawk already running inside the building. Hunter is lying on the ground. Two of the Hades MC men are lying a few feet away. At any other time, I would have rushed towards him to make sure that he was okay, but I know that the others will go to him. For now, I need to make sure that my woman is fine.
“Myst?” I call as I run inside, seeing the tables overturned in the bar area, which has my blood running cold. The fuckers were inside our home. I know before I even open the door that Myst isn’t in the room, but I need to make sure.
I open the bedroom door with such force that it hits the wall, and a piece of plaster comes loose. “Myst?” I whisper, frozen in the doorway, when I see the blood on the floor.
My world that seemed to have rightened when Mystique came back into my life has just darkened. I feel like I have been pulled into hell, but I won’t go alone. I am going to find the fuckers that thought they could attack my club, my brothers, and my mate, and I will roast them in my fury.
Throwing back my head, I roar in pain!
