“Everything is fine. If you turn into your wolf, I can clean your wound when we get to your home. Maybe you can lie in the back seat of the car while we wait for help.” She looks over at Fang in question, and I see him nod in agreement.
“Is it done?”
Fang nods. “Yeah, I’m going to phone King and get the tow here for the car.” He inclines his head towards the car. “Go rest, Brother, it’s all cool now.”
SIENA 18
After a lot of convincing, Blue finally agreed to change into his wolf. I was worried because he was losing a lot of blood and I don’t have anything here to treat him. Goliath suggested that I sit in the back seat with him. With his head on my lap, I stroked his fur. He soon lolls off to sleep, which is a relief because I was worried that he would hurt himself even more by moving around. Looking out the window, I see Lee Ann talking to Frost. I know that she must be asking him a hundred questions.
Fang said that King and the others are on their way and that they have contacted the tow truck. I’m kind of nervous to meet the pack’s alpha—to meet the man that is responsible for all these other men. It’s clear that they respect him and trust in his judgement by the way they talk about him. When Blue said they were at war with the Hades club I was initially worried, but when he started to explain the reason behind the war, it made sense to me that they are standing up for something that they believe in—that it’s for the better good. I haven’t seen any of the men that attacked us except for the one that Blue was fighting, and that one I tried not to look at because I saw his throat get ripped out. I know that my mate’s a wolf, that he’s wild in so many ways. That wildness is evident in the way he attacked the Hades man when he shot at us.
I might only have known Blue for a short period of time, but I have come to realize that Blue will go to any lengths to protect me, even throwing himself in front of a bullet, apparently.
Looking down at the wolf with his head on my lap, I stroke gently at his soft furry snout. He’s a beautiful wolf, and if I ever wanted my own wolf, I would have wanted one like Blue. There have been various cars driving past and stopping, asking if we needed help, but the men quickly have them on their way again.
Looking up, I see a group of men riding towards us. Tensing, I feel myself frown because I can’t see them from this distance or if their kuttes have the same logo as the Wolverines or the Hades MC. The closer they get, the tenser my muscles become, until I’m worried they will snap. I jump in surprise when I feel the wetness of Blue’s tongue loll against my hand. Looking down, I see his eyes are open and he’s looking at me with those beautiful blue eyes. That’s one thing that I have noticed remains the same with him, his eyes maintain their beautiful blue color.
“They are here. The tow truck is about fifteen minutes behind,” Dixon says as he leans into the car to look at me. “How is he?” There’s concern in his voice as he looks down at Blue
“He will be fine,” I state, still worried that he might get an infection, but I need to have faith that as a wolf he will heal faster than normal. Dixon nods before stepping back and walking towards where the other bikers are parking. As they take their helmets off, I shake my head in amusement. There isn’t one that I can say is the odd one out.
All the men have an animalistic energy around them. There should be no doubt in anyone’s mind that when they see them, they are dangerous and should tread cautiously when around them.
It’s evident who King is when they take off their helmets. He stands tall among them, there’s an air of authority about him that is unmistakable. Goliath says something to him, whatever it is, has him glancing towards the car, and then he’s making his way here.
I was nervous when I didn’t know what these men were, but now I do, and I worry that one of them won’t like me.
“Siena!” he greets as he looks down at Blue. Blue raises his head and looks at him, then lies it down again. “How is he?” There is genuine concern in his eyes as he looks down at Blue.
“He’ll be fine, but I need to clean his wound and bandage it.”
“We’ll be out of here in the next twenty minutes, you’ll be traveling in the pickup with Blue.”
“What about my sister?”
King looks over his shoulder at Lee Ann who is standing by the tree looking at all the men in awe.
“She will be sitting in front in the Tow truck.”
“Thank you.” He nods as he stands up straight and turns, barking orders to the men, his wide muscular back rippling under his kutte. In no time at all, the bikes are all parked near the car and the Tow truck is pulling up in front of it.
“Come on, sweetheart, let’s move the two of you into the truck.” I try to call Blue, but he opens his eyes and then closes them again.
“He’s not waking up.” My heart is racing. Has he lost too much blood? Looking at the wound, it’s caked with blood but enough to weaken him to the point of not waking up.
“It’s fine, Sweetheart, he’s just healing,” Goliath says as he pulls Blue into his arms. I jump out of the car as soon as Goliath starts making his way towards the Tow truck. Lee Ann is already sitting in front when we slide into the back of the cabin.
“How is he doing?” she asks, looking back at us when Goliath closes the door behind himself.
“Apparently healing,” I murmur as I stroke my fingers through Blue’s fur, feeling more at peace when I’m touching him.
“I still can’t believe what happened today,” she says, shaking her head. “They’re freaking wolves, Siena.”
I shake my head in amusement. She doesn’t mention the fact that we nearly died today or that we were in an accident. No. The most important fact to her is that the men are shifters. Smiling to myself, I look down at Blu. I guess it’s something pretty mind-blowing, finding out that something that we always thought was a myth, is actually true.
“Were you ever going to tell me?”
“I only just found out, I’m sure sooner or later I would have told you.” I don’t know if I would or wouldn’t as it wasn’t my secret to tell. I’m sure it isn’t something that they relish people to know. I still have so many questions, but I’m hoping that with time, they will all be answered.
