“He’s coming.” My thoughts come to an abrupt end at Fang’s words.

I see headlights racing up the road and hear music blaring, uncaring. Soon he will be driving into the city and driving past people’s houses that are sleeping at this time.

“Are you ready?” Fang asks as he looks at me, pulling his gun from where it was tucked behind his back in the waistband of his jeans, covered by his kutte.

“Yeah,” I reply just as the car comes over the rise. Fang lifts his arm and then is firing, the shot is loud in the night, and the pop of the tire is just as loud. The car starts to swerve, I hear Jim swear as he tries to bring the car to a standstill without crashing, but he was going too fast, and collides with a tree. The sound of the tree cracking is loud, but it maintains upright.

As soon as everything comes to a standstill, I’m moving towards the stationary car. I don’t have much time because anyone can come upon us, but I will make sure to get Jim out of the car and away from sight where I can have a talk with him without any interruptions. Coming to the driver’s door, I’m about to wrench it open when Jim pushes it open and then freezes when he sees me.

“Blue,” he says in surprise. “Fuck, look what happened.” There is a dazed look to him, and the smell of alcohol permeates the air. The fucker is driving while intoxicated.

Leaning down, I grab him by his shirt and drag him out of the car.

“Wha… what are…” before he can finish his question, I’m punching him back against the car.

“I warned you. I warned you not to go anywhere near my woman.” His nose is bleeding, but that will be the least of his wounds when I’m done with him.

“This is because of that… that bitch?”

I growl. No one disrespects my mate. Leaning in, I pull him to his feet, and with a flick of my wrist send him flying back into a bush.

“Siena is mine,” I roar as I approach.

Jim scrambles as he tries to get back up.

“You tried to pay her to stay away from me, and then you grabbed her?” I’m only a couple of feet away before he swings at me. I duck, throwing a punch that hits him in the stomach.

He lets out a whoosh of air, my punch knocking the wind out of him.

“What the fuck,” he gasps. “I… was… helping you.”

I shove him hard, which has him nearly falling to the ground, but at the last minute, he regains his footing. “How do you see trying to get rid of my woman as helping me?” This time I roar my question at him, my patience gone.

“Can’t you see?” he argues. “She’s just like her sister, a little whore that wants…”

This time when I punch him, he flies back, hitting a trunk of a tree. I hear a crack and know that I have broken some of his bones. Reaching him, I grab for his arms, but he’s unconscious. I shake him, but there is no response.

“Open your eyes, you motherfucker.” From the angle of his leg, I can tell it’s broken. “Wake up, you son of a bitch.”

“We need to go,” Fang says from where he’s leaning against the car, he has his arms crossed as he looks at us.

“Jim? Jim! Wake up, motherfucker.”

He opens his eyes dazedly.

“Listen to me, are you listening?” When he doesn’t respond, I shake him again. “Are you listening?”

He groans in pain, but then nods.

“You’re fired, you will not work for us any longer, and if you try anything you will be dead, do you understand?”

He groans in pain.

“Do you understand?”

“Yeah…”

I let go of his arms and he slides down the tree, gasping in pain when his leg touches the ground. I know that King will have someone keep an eye on Jim until he’s sure that he doesn’t go to the cops or tries anything. I’m not worried if he does because we will always have an alibi.
