“We’ll eventually go on a real one,” I tell her confidently. She deserves more than just a couple of nights in a hotel room in Vegas.
“Well, text me your flight times,” Tyler says. “Your clients are waiting.”
“I’ll be back at work the day after tomorrow,” I confirm. “Appreciate you taking them on.”
“Yeah, you’re welcome. Some of them have real foul mouths, though.”
I laugh. “Don’t I know it.”
We say our goodbyes, then Everleigh tosses her phone. “Everyone will know before our plane even lands.”
“That’s small-town living for ya.” I flash her a wink. “And good, I want everyone to know you’remineforever. My wife. The future mother of my children. The love of my life.”
“You’re gonna get me pregnant with all this sexy talk,” she taunts. “But first, we better call Annie.”
“Alright, but let’s make it quick. I need to get back inside you.”
My cock is hard as fuck, and I want nothing more than to devour my wife, but she’s right. After I explained the whole situation to Annie yesterday, she nearly lost her mind. Annie was pissed I put myself in harm’s way and didn’t tell her what was going on. Of course I apologized profusely, but since it all worked out, she couldn’t stay mad for long.
I click on Annie’s number, and when she picks up, Everleigh holds up her hand.
“Holy shit, what’s that?” she exclaims.
“Bad word!” Sadie calls out, and we both laugh.
“Say hello to your new sister!” Everleigh grins.
Annie’s eyes widen as she brings the screen closer. “No freaking way! You two got married?”
“Yep, we sure did,” I confirm.
“Are you telling me my only brother didn’t invite me to his wedding! I don’t know if I should be congratulating you or mad.” She pouts.
“Uncle Archer!” Sadie comes over. “Hi, Everleigh!”
“Hey, sweetie,” I say.
“So are you my aunt now?”
“Uh, yeah, I guess so!” Everleigh smiles.
“Yay! Can we come visit soon?” Sadie asks, and Annie takes back the phone.
“So why did you two decide to suddenly tie the knot?” she asks.
We repeat what we told Tyler and Gemma. By the time we finish explaining, Annie’s shoulders relax, and she says how happy she is for us. I apologize for not telling her sooner.
“We’ll make plans for y’all to visit real soon, okay?” Everleigh says. “Now that everything has calmed down, you have to come.”
“Well, give me a heads-up, so I can request off work,” Annie says. “And book flights.”
Everleigh looks at me with a cheeky grin. “How about six weeks from now?”
“Six weeks?” Annie gasps.
“Yeah, the middle to end of October is the best time to come to Lawton Ridge. There’s even a huge fall festival with tons of trick-or-treating. Y’all would love it!”
“Yes! I wanna go! Mom, can we?” Sadie begs.
